7 Renewable Energy Strategies We Can Learn From Iceland
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin “My favorite part of Iceland's renewable energy story is that it started small. It started with innovation, entrepreneurship,” Halla Hrund Logadottir , the Director-General of Iceland’s National Energy Authority (INEA), said in an extensive interview for my Electric Ladies Podcast during my whirlwind tour of their clean energy technologies recently. “In terms of how has this developed, originally organically and then supported by the government and by policies and funding, which is essential for any development.” Like any entrepreneurial venture, it started with one inspired person who bucked convention to find another way. “In the case of geothermal, there was a farmer who found a way in the early 1900s to connect his farm to a neighboring hot spring. And then, his municipality, (and) a few other farmers did the same. And then from there, it took off to politics….and became a part of government strategy to … [Read more...] about 7 Renewable Energy Strategies We Can Learn From Iceland

8 Books to Read to Celebrate Juneteenth
Juneteenth, on June 19 (marked this year with a day off work for many on June 20), celebrates the day enslaved people in Texas finally learned they had been freed more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed, and serves as a more general celebration of Black resilience, accomplishment , and joy. It may also be confused with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). In other cases, 20–25% of patients are completely asymptomatic. It's these concerns, as well as the lack of support and education for women's reproductive health, that the documentary, Below The Belt highlights. The film is directed by Shannon Cohn and exposes widespread problems in our healthcare systems through the lens of four patients urgently searching for answers to mysterious symptoms. From societal taboos and gender bias to misinformed doctors and profit-driven healthcare, the film reveals how millions of people with … [Read more...] about How The Documentary ‘Below The Belt’ Shines A Light On Endometriosis

‘Absolutely Crazy’: Trump Hits Back At Hutchinson’s Testimony
Former President Donald Trump hit back at former aide to the previous White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Cassidy Hutchinson, on Thursday over her testimony before the Jan. 6 committee. Hutchinson testified under oath that Trump ordered his two Secret Service agents, Robert Engel and Tony Ornato, to take him to the Capitol, then lunged for the steering wheel from the backseat and grabbed Engel by the clavicle. The two agents are both reportedly slated to publicly denounce her testimony. “I thought it was absolutely crazy,” Trump told Newsmax’s John Bachman. “This committee is, a lot of people say, illegally formed, but when you look at what they’re doing and when you look at what they’re saying and what they’re doing to the country — now, the good news is, a lot of people aren’t watching, a lot of people aren’t listening to it — but they’re trying to do real harm.” “This lady yesterday, is there something wrong with her?” he continued. “She said I jumped from a car and I … [Read more...] about ‘Absolutely Crazy’: Trump Hits Back At Hutchinson’s Testimony
