By Hamza Junaid Published: May 5, 2019 0 SHARES Share Tweet Email Pakistan’s naturally exotic locations are among the best you will ever experience in your lifetime. They say that desperate times call for desperate measures. Pakistan is in an economic crunch at the moment, and with limited options available to bail itself out, the tourism industry could be the much needed light at the end of the tunnel. The recent surge in travel bloggers visiting Pakistan on sponsored trips shows the eagerness of the current government to refurbish Pakistan’s international image. However, this begs the question, does the government have any concrete plans to support the tourism sector beyond just charging a drone and flying it over the mountains? Like any other industry in the world, tourism brings its own set of challenges. When you invite the world with open arms to come explore Pakistan, the basic assumption is that you are ready for a cross-cultural influx to take place. … [Read more...] about Pakistan is not ready for a tourist influx
Why is kruger national park a tourist attraction
Slovakian politicians are appealing to their president to veto a new law banning foreign national anthems that they say they voted for "by mistake". The law specifically criminalises playing a national anthem other than the anthem of Slovakia at a number of public events, unless a member of a foreign delegation is present. Such an offence will carry a fine of up to €7,000 when it comes into effect on May 15. Politicians were last week asked to vote on an amendment to protect the use of Slovakian state symbols. It was pushed forward by the far-right Slovak National Party (SNS), and was in direct response to the use of a modified symbol on the new uniform of the country's ice hockey team. But, unbeknown to a number of politicians, the amendment included an article detailing the proposed restrictions to national anthems. A 'mistake' The new law is particularly harmful to Slovakia's minority groups — Hungarians make up around 9% of the country's entire population. By Adam Garrie Published: April 4, 2019 0 SHARES Share Tweet Email The reality Pakistan must now face is that the US is squarely focused on provoking China and for this, India will remain a key ally of Washington. The United States has introduced a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution to blacklist Masood Azhar as an international terrorist. Azhar is the leader of Jaish-e-Mohammed (banned in Pakistan since 2002) and has been blamed by India for masterminding February’s Pulwama incident, even though no evidence has been produced which links Azhar to the incident. China has refused to list Azhar as an international terrorist after careful consideration of the definition of international terrorism according to international law. China has made this position absolutely clear and as such, it would appear that the US is looking to transform the UNSC into a place of high stakes geopolitical theatre, because China’s veto of the US resolution is inevitable. … [Read more...] about Why is the US making a mountain out of the Masood Azhar molehill?

Katie Warren, provided by Published 3:09 pm CST, Wednesday, December 19, 2018 Katie Warren/Business Insider I visited an iconic New York City holiday market to see if it lived up to the hype. The Bank of America Winter Village is at Bryant Park in Midtown Manhattan, a short walk from Times Square. I expected it to be overcrowded with tourists, filled with cheesy souvenir shops, and completely overrated. But it was actually a lovely NYC holiday experience and I think everyone should visit. I had low expectations going to the Bryant Park Winter Village, a holiday market in New York City. It's in Midtown Manhattan, a short walk from Times Square, and it's on top of five subway lines, so I was sure it would be packed with people. The market, which opened on October 27 this year, includes more than 170 holiday pop-up shops, an ice skating rink, and a heated lodge with food and a cocktail bar. There are also various eateries mixed in with the boutiques.
