On the one hand, it may seem like a dream come true. You can benefit from AI helping you work faster. Perhaps, better. On the other hand: So does everyone else and their hamster. Especially since it seems that anyone can look like an expert and creator with the help of AI. It can, after all, write a job application good enough to be short-listed, pass portions of the U.S. medical licensing exam and the bar exam , produce code , text, and sellable art … [Read more...] about Does ChatGPT mean the end of ‘thought leaders’?

Does ChatGPT Pose A Cybersecurity Threat? Here’s The AI Bot’s Answer
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Does the 100 million user ChatGPT ai-powered chatbot represent a cybersecurity risk, given that it can create malicious code as well as phishing emails? Sky Apologises For ‘The Last Of Us’ 4K Delay
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin British fans of The Last Of Us who like to enjoy HBO’s latest hit show in the best picture quality possible were left frustrated following Monday’s broadcast of Episode 3 by subscription broadcaster Sky when they had to wait more than 20 hours for the show to become available to watch in its premium 4K resolution and high dynamic range form. Typically the 4K HDR version of the latest Last Of Us episode appears for streaming/downloading on Sky’s Sky Q, Sky Glass and Sky Stream devices just a few hours after the original 2am ‘live’ HD, SDR broadcast has taken place. With Episode 3, however, the 4K HDR version (which is only available in the UK via Sky’s platform) didn’t become available to Sky subscribers until around 11pm on Monday night. Which meant, of course, that many households actually had to wait until Tuesday evening before they were finally able to find the time to catch up with the latest heart-wrenching zombie … [Read more...] about Sky Apologises For ‘The Last Of Us’ 4K Delay
With Revenue Down 5.5%, Tim Cook Presides Over Shrinking Apple
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Apple just blamed its weakest quarter in years on forces outside its control. But something else could be behind Apple’s 5% drop in sales for the most recent quarter. Apple is violating one of the most basic requirements for growth: customers will switch to the product that offers them the most value. Based on listening to my undergraduate students this week, many are feeling like fools for being locked in — via the iPhone — to Apple’s “ecosystem.” They would rather own a product that costs less and works better. Apple’s business is dependent on essentially jailing its customers within its ecosystem. The iPhone is a 15 year old product — that accounted for 56% of Apple’s revenues in the latest quarter. It competes in a declining smartphone industry — shipments were down 18% in the latest quarter, according to the Wall Street Journal . Apple’s growth problem is not really due to macroeconomics or supply chain … [Read more...] about With Revenue Down 5.5%, Tim Cook Presides Over Shrinking Apple
