July 18, 2020 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Princess Elizabeth was 25 years old 25,000 days ago when she became queen while on tour in Nairobi after her father King George VI died in 1952. More precisely, that means that on Saturday, July 18, Queen Elizabeth II has been ruling from the throne for a grand total of 68 years, five months and 12 days. Those numbers mark a new record in reigning longevity: Not only is she the longest-reigning British monarch, but the longest-reigning monarch ever. ADVERTISEMENT The previous record was held by her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria, who reigned for more than 63 years. “Not one (record) to which I have ever aspired,” she said when she beat that record in 2015. “Inevitably, a long life can pass by many milestones. My own is no exception.” ADVERTISEMENT ADVERTISEMENT An Extraordinary Life And she certainly has gone on to be part of many milestones, including welcoming a new … [Read more...] about With 25,000 Days Of Work, Queen Elizabeth Breaks New Record: A Life In Photos

Image: Reuters/Matthew Childs “Star Wars” Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi is back for a six-part television series and so is Ewan McGregor, who had played him as a young man. Forget the Jedi mind tricks and lightsaber battles, though. “Obi-Wan’s not doing that anymore. He’s living a normal life. He’s not living the life of a Jedi anymore,” said McGregor, who is also executive producer of the series, in an interview. “We can see from the trailer that there are these inquisitors that are doing Vader’s job of tracking down the last Jedi. He wants to destroy every last Jedi,” he said. “They’re looking for him, so you can’t use the Force because he might give himself away.” It has been 17 years since McGregor donned the cowl of the Jedi in “Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith,” the last of the prequel trilogy. “They were very difficult to make. " I'm excited, because I feel like I'll be able to take this time to really process this very seminal chapter that's closing, and be able to use the music and being able to play songs every night as a way to process what I just lived through instead of being a shell in the fetal position in my bedroom. I get to go out and do something." The show wraps this Tuesday and Moore will be out on the road by June 10 in Atlanta in support of her superb new album, In Real Life . "In that moment I said 'I'm going to probably eat these for the rest of my life',” he added. Gorske first set the record of “eating most Mac burgers in a lifetime” in 1999. He had eaten 15,490 burgers by then. Since then, his record has more than doubled. By 2021, the number of burgers he consumed went up to 32,340. Close It was on May 17 this year that he reached his big 50-year munching milestone. Guinness said Gorske had missed eating the burgers for only eight days in 50 years. He has saved burger cartons from different time periods in a glass case -- a testament to changes that happened over decades.
