Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Spring is here at last, which means rain and sleet and hail instead of just the white fluffy stuff. How lovely. Someday the sun will shine again. Birds will chirp. The snow will melt and fade into memory. Flowers will blossom. Deer and rabbits will prance through the forest and my dogs will give them merry chase. Fair maidens will sing, perched on high balconies. How To Solve Today’s Wordle The Hint: Not wimpy. The Clue: This word ends with two vowels. The Answer: . . . Well, I feel pretty good about this Wordle even though I once again tied Wordle Bot. I feel like we’re constantly tying these days. It’s weird. In a rivalry like this, one of us should be winning more. This isn’t soccer. Sheesh. In any case, my opening word was pretty decent even if crate only got me a ‘T’ in yellow. Zack Snyder Says A ‘Ridiculous Scale’ Rebel Moon RPG Video Game Is Coming After The Netflix Film
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin I actually like Zack Snyder movies quite a bit, but man, the guy sure enjoys his hype and hyperbole. A few days ago he was hyping up some sort of Snyder Cut DCEU announcement for April, which everyone now thinks is Netflix buying the rights to the Snyderverse or something (it is not). Today, he’s talking about Rebel Moon, his big-budget sci-fi epic he’s making for Netflix, out at the end of this year. In an interview with the Nerd Queens podcast (via VGC ), Snyder revealed that Rebel Moon is not just a huge movie, but an animated series and a full-on video game are planned as well. And while Netflix does indeed have a gaming arm, those are usually smaller, mobile-focused games, and that’s not what Snyder says he’s talking about here: "The one thing that I'm having a really good time with – and I don't really know if I'm supposed to talk about it – is this RPG that we're doing that is just literally insane, and so … [Read more...] about Zack Snyder Says A ‘Ridiculous Scale’ Rebel Moon RPG Video Game Is Coming After The Netflix Film
What Is A Design Institution Today? London’s Design Museum Director Tim Marlow Considers
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin “I’ve always been attracted to the momentum of institutions,” begins the art historian Tim Marlow. “I like a busy place. I want to bring different audiences and for them to have communal experiences in a shared space.” He clarifies: “This is what museums do best.” As director and chief executive of the Design Museum in London, a position he’s held since 2019, he’s in a prime spot to achieve this. I’m meeting Marlow at the museum west of the city in Kensington, housed in the former Grade II* listed Commonwealth Institute. A curious building with its place in time, it opened in 1962 to inform and educate about the Commonwealth of Nations. The listing notes say its founding came “at a critical moment in the evolution of the modern Commonwealth out of the old Empire.” Meanwhile, the design and displays conveyed a “sense of idealism and a new start.” It, therefore, feels like a fitting place to be occupied by a museum also … [Read more...] about What Is A Design Institution Today? Is This The Actual Cover-Art For ‘The Winds Of Winter’?
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin I’ve penned many an article and blog post about the long, long wait between books in George R.R. Martin’s fantasy series A Song Of Ice And Fire upon which the HBO hit show Game Of Thrones was based. Mostly, when I post these it’s some kind of grappling with disappointment, some attempt to give up the ghost and move on from what used to be my favorite fantasy series of all time. After all, the world has changed since A Dance With Dragons released back in 2011. I’ve changed, too. Maybe I should be able to move on now, nearly twelve years later. I wish I could. Today, however, I come to you with that terrible, wonderful poisoned chalice: Hope. Winter may be coming at last, and just in time for spring. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a “chalice half-empty” kind of guy when it comes to Martin’s novels. I love his writing—just not the pace of his prose. But now we have this possible cover art for The Winds Of Winter … [Read more...] about Is This The Actual Cover-Art For ‘The Winds Of Winter’?

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin When it comes to prolific storytellers whose talents transcend multiple genres, that conversation must include Method Man. The New York native has consistently used the mediums of music and acting to tell stories that resonate with the culture. A lot of people were turned off by the fact that Tariq was paying him, and he almost sent Tariq to jail. But, they failed to understand that Tariq was not Davis's client; his mother was. In order to get his mother out of trouble, Davis discovered the … [Read more...] about Method Man Talks About The Perseverance And Relationships Of His Character Davis MacLean In ‘Power Book II: Ghost’

Why CPAs Are Getting Rarer And Technology Is Not The Enemy
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin CEO & Co-founder of Trullion , AI-Powered Accounting Software that automates accounting workflows for CFOs, Controllers & Auditors. Accountants love numbers. So it is with much consternation that accountants in particular and business professionals in general have noted the decline in the number of CPAs , especially in the U.S. In 2019, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) most recent trends report showed that total projected accounting enrollments were down 4%, master's enrollments were down 6%, accounting graduates decreased by 4% and CPA Examination candidates had dropped by 7%. These are alarming statistics, and deserve an explanation. Moreover, the pandemic could be accelerating this trend. For example, many prospective accounting graduates currently in school have been forced to shift to an online or hybrid method of learning.
