August 9, 2022 by edition.cnn.com

(CNN) With nearly 9,000 confirmed monkeypox cases nationwide, there is growing concern that US college and university campuses could become monkeypox "hotspots" this fall. Sennheiser Unveils A Great New Pair Of Momentum Wireless Headphones

August 8, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin It’s been a while since Sennheiser refreshed its iconic and successful Momentum range of headphones. The company has licensed its consumer products to Sonova AG and the new Momentum 4 Wireless headphones result from this new cooperation. The new style is a significant departure from the retro look of the previous Momentum range. The Momentum 4 Wireless headphones have been designed with two essential aims: Sennheiser wanted them to sound great and be supremely comfortable so they could be worn for long periods, such as a transatlantic flight where noise-canceling headphones are essential. The new styling of the Momentum 4 Wireless is a world away from the round ear cups and vintage look of the old-style Momentum headphones. This has been a deliberate decision by Sennheiser following extensive customer research. Sennheiser’s customers wanted a more low-key design with a less retro look. This suited Sennheiser just fine, as … [Read more...] about Sennheiser Unveils A Great New Pair Of Momentum Wireless Headphones

Russian rouble firms towards 60 vs dollar, stocks mixed

August 9, 2022 by www.theedgemarkets.com

- A + A MOSCOW (Aug 9): The rouble firmed towards 60 against the U.S. dollar on Tuesday, retaining support from capital controls and high prices for oil, Russia's key export, while stock indexes were mixed as the market lacked momentum. At 0738 GMT, the rouble was 0.6% stronger against the dollar at 60.40, trading in a range between 59 and 62 for the sixth day in a row. Against the euro, the rouble firmed 1.2% to 61.48 , well above the record low of 132.42 it hit days after Moscow sent tens of thousands of troops into Ukraine on Feb. 24. The rouble is the best-performing currency so far this year as it received a boost from the capital controls Russia imposed to shield its economy and the financial system from sweeping western sanctions. However the rouble may gradually weaken in the near term given the lack of news triggers and the fact that the monthly tax payment period that usually boosts demand for the currency will only start later in August, analyst at … [Read more...] about Russian rouble firms towards 60 vs dollar, stocks mixed

Dr. Guido David, an Octa Research fellow, said 20 provinces—15 in Luzon and five in the Visayas—registered high positivity rates, which were above 20 percent, on Saturday (Aug. 6). He said “very high” positivity rates were logged in Capiz (64), Camarines Sur (48.7), Isabela (47.6), Tarlac (41.9), Aklan (40.1), Nueva Ecija (38.4), Pampanga (35), and Laguna (33.2). Positivity rates in Cagayan (30.5), La Union (29.4), Zambales (28.6), Albay (28.2), Bohol (26.9), Quezon (25.1), Pangasinan (25), Negros Oriental (23.4), Benguet (22), Cavite (21.1), Palawan (20.4), and Rizal (18.8) were also deemed concerning. David said he expected a two-month wave because of the Omicron sub-variants BA.4 and BA.5: “We’ve already had two months (June to August) but we’re not yet at the peak, so it’s taking … [Read more...] about Latest COVID wave: When waning immunity, expired vaccines, new strains mix
