Vincent Fabian Thomas (The Jakarta Post) PREMIUM Jakarta ● Tue, March 21 2023 Bank Indonesia (BI) says it will introduce a domestic credit card system allowing for greater independence and lower fees, as transactions are settled locally rather than by foreign providers. BI spokesperson Erwin Haryono said on Saturday that the central bank had been in discussion with local industries and progress stood at 90 percent, but he declined to reveal when the domestic credit card would be launched or what it would be called. Erwin said a domestic credit card would have several benefits, notably lower fees, because offshore settlement and relying on foreign payment networks like United States-based Visa or Mastercard would no longer be necessary. to Read Full Story SUBSCRIBE NOW Starting from IDR 55,500/month Unlimited access to our web and app content e-Post daily digital newspaper No advertisements, no interruptions Privileged access to our events and … [Read more...] about BI to launch domestic credit card system

Why Charging An Electric Car Will Soon Come With A Slurpee
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin One of the biggest barriers to widespread electric vehicle adoption, experts say, is the nation’s woefully inadequate public charging situation. As new EV owners have been discovering, so-called Level 3 DC Fast Charge stations that can being a given EV up to 80% battery capacity in as little as 30 minutes are still few and far between. Worse, they’re often inconveniently located, and have a reputation for being inoperable at the most inopportune times. (The exception here perhaps being Tesla owners who have access to the brand’s extensive, and by accounts reliable, Supercharger network.) According to the Department of Energy’s Alternative Fuels Data Center, there are currently a little over 7,000 Level 3 public chargers operating across the U.S., versus an estimated 145,000 fueling stations. While various entities like Electrify America and EVgo are expanding their national charging presence, especially near busy … [Read more...] about Why Charging An Electric Car Will Soon Come With A Slurpee
