G7 to hike sanctions on Russia, nears oil price cap deal, says US official

June 27, 2022 by www.theedgemarkets.com

- A + A SCHLOSS ELMAU, Germany (June 27): The Group of Seven (G7) rich democracies will commit on Tuesday (June 28) to a new package of coordinated actions meant to raise pressure on Russia over its war in Ukraine, and will finalise plans for a price cap on Russian oil, a senior US official said on Monday. The announcement came amid news that Russia looked set to plunge into its first sovereign default in decades and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy spoke to address G7 leaders meeting at an alpine resort in southern Germany. "The dual objectives of G7 leaders have been to take direct aim at [Russian President Vladimir] Putin's revenues, particularly through energy, but also to minimise the spillovers and the impact on the G7 economies and the rest of the world," the US official said on the sidelines of the annual G7 summit. The G7 nations, which account for nearly half the world's economic output, are determined to crank up the pressure on Russia without … [Read more...] about G7 to hike sanctions on Russia, nears oil price cap deal, says US official

REUTERS/Oleksandr Ratushniak KYIV — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday urged Western leaders to supply anti-aircraft defense systems to his embattled nation as Russian forces assaulted Lysychansk, the last big city still held by Ukrainian troops in eastern Luhansk province. Addressing the Group of Seven summit in the Bavarian Alps via video link, Zelensky also asked for help to export grain from Ukraine and for more sanctions on Russia, a European official said. As the leaders met, Russian forces were bombarding Lysychansk, the Kremlin’s immediate battlefield target following the fall of neighboring Severodonetsk over the weekend. Luhansk governor Serhiy Gaidai said the city was suffering “catastrophic” damage from the shelling and he urged civilians to urgently evacuate. “The … [Read more...] about Ukraine pleads for air defense as Russia turns sights on Lysychansk

Outriders ‘Worldslayer’ Expansion Review: Horde Of Destruction

June 27, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Well, they really did it. In an effort to emulate pretty much every aspect of the Diablo series as much as possible, Outriders has packed almost all of its significant additions into a Lord of Destruction/Reaper of Souls style expansion for the game, which is out this week. It’s called Worldslayer , it costs $40, and you can boost your character instantly to the level to play it if you’ve fallen behind, but even veterans will find a long, long road of grinding ahead of them, with the way the expansion builds out the endgame. But while I did enjoy what I played, I did find myself in a familiar predicament by the end, where solo play felt exhausting and punishing, and getting really deep into the endgame will require friends who are still playing, or matchmaking in what has been an increasingly shrinking pool of players. But we’ll see if Worldslayer brings them back. Worldslayer is essentially split into two parts: … [Read more...] about Outriders ‘Worldslayer’ Expansion Review: Horde Of Destruction

Following Rob Gronkowski’s Retirement, Expect Tampa Bay Buccaneers To Make Move For Tight End

June 26, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The 2022 Tampa Bay Buccaneers will look a tad bit less explosive compared to the 2021 version. Following the announcement of Rob Gronkowski’s retirement, this year’s Buccaneers offense will not only be without arguably the greatest receiving tight end in NFL history, they’ll also be without Antonio Brown. In other words, the 2022 Buccaneers will be without two of the best receiving weapons to enter the league since 2010. In addition to the loss of two of their top four receiving weapons, Tampa Bay could enter the season without Chris Godwin, who is still recovering from an ACL injury . Make no mistake about it, the Buccaneers will be just fine. Tom Brady is back in the fold after his 40-day retirement and Tampa Bay plays in one of the worst divisions in football in the NFC South. Combined with the likelihood that the NFC won’t feature any powerhouse teams outside of the Los Angeles Rams, the Buccaneers won’t have … [Read more...] about Following Rob Gronkowski’s Retirement, Expect Tampa Bay Buccaneers To Make Move For Tight End

Instagram Marks Post Celebrating Black People Owning Guns As ‘Sensitive Content’

June 27, 2022 by dailycaller.com

Instagram thinks a post celebrating black people owning weapons is something the public should be shielded from. An article titled “ Column: Is California ready for more Black people to legally carry guns in public? ” was making the rounds, and I screenshot the headline to share on Instagram with the caption, “If you find yourself worrying about more American citizens legally carrying guns and exercising their Second Amendment rights just because they’re minorities, congrats, you’re racist.” (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football) View this post on Instagram A post shared by David Hookstead (@david_hookstead) To my great surprise, the post was first flagged as hidden and was then tagged as “sensitive content.” Yes, a post about how there’s nothing wrong with all races celebrating their God-given rights is “sensitive content” in the eyes of Instagram. Left-Wingers Refer To Women As ‘Pregnant People’ In Response To Roe Overturn

June 24, 2022 by dailycaller.com

Left-wing politicians and figures used the term “pregnant people” for women carrying children in response to the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade. The Supreme Court ruled in the case, Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, that the 1973 Court decision Roe v. Wade was “egregiously wrong from the start.”  The ruling sent the authority to regulate and restrict abortions back to the states. Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar said the decision will prohibit bodily autonomy for “women and pregnant people” across the country. “This Supreme Court decision is devastating for millions of women and pregnant people across the country. I am outraged this right-wing court is turning the clock back on generations of progress and prohibiting individuals to have autonomy over their bodies. Let’s be clear: This decision is a blow to everyone who believes in the 14th amendment and to anyone who believes there are limits to how much the government can control the decisions we make in … [Read more...] about Left-Wingers Refer To Women As ‘Pregnant People’ In Response To Roe Overturn

Biden Signs Gun Control Bill Into Law: ‘Lives Will Be Saved’

June 25, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Topline President Joe Biden on Saturday morning signed into law a bipartisan gun control bill that swiftly passed Congress this week, marking the most significant action the federal government has taken on gun control in decades. Key Facts Biden gave a brief speech before signing the bill, listing the measures the bill takes and saying it is a "monumental day" for America and “lives will be saved.” The president's signature clears the way for new federal grants to encourage states to enact red-flag laws, enhances background checks for gun buyers under the age of 21 and closes the so-called "boyfriend" loophole, which allowed non-spousal domestic abusers to own guns. The bill also creates a new statute making gun trafficking a federal crime and includes around $11 billion to improve mental health programs, among other provisions. Crucial Quote "While this bill doesn't do everything I want, it does … [Read more...] about Biden Signs Gun Control Bill Into Law: ‘Lives Will Be Saved’
