GAS PRICES SHATTER RECORD HIGHS… USA TODAY: Gas prices are now the most expensive in US history, breaking record from 2008 After days of dramatically rising gas prices in wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the national average for a gallon of gas is now the highest in United States history, breaking the record that stood for nearly 14 years. As of Tuesday morning, the cost of regular gas in the U.S. is $4.17, according to AAA, up from $4.06 on Monday. Last week, the average cost was $3.60. The previous national average high was $4.11, set on July 17, 2008, according to AAA. The cost for diesel is also nearing the record of $4.84, which was also set in July 2008. E-ganja, like e-cigarettes, is a portable electronic device that simulates smoking. Unlike e-cigarettes, the e-ganja electronic device contains cannabis oil instead of tobacco. E-ganja electronic devices, unlike conventional cigarettes , do not emit any odor or smoke, which is one of their advantages. Most smokers buy e-ganja online, and it costs about 3,000 baht. Nearly Half of Small Businesses Can’t Fill Jobs
A report from the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) found that small businesses across the country continue to raise wages to keep employees and fill a historically high level of job openings, but are still struggling to fill jobs. Nearly half or 49% of owners reported job openings they could not fill, down just one point from June and two points from May’s 48-year record high, suggesting the labor shortage remains frustrating for many small business owners as they confront inflation and other economic headwinds. Twenty-one percent of owners said that labor quality was their top business problem, down two points from June, while 9% said labor costs were their top business problem. Overall, 64% of owners reported hiring or trying to hire in July. Of those trying to hire, 91% of owners reported few or no qualified applicants for their jobs. Boustead Naval Shipyard committed to completing construction of six LCS, says CEO
- A + A LUMUT (Aug 13): Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd (BNS) is committed to completing the construction of six Royal Malaysian Navy littoral combat ships (LCS), said its chief executive officer Capt (R) Azhar Jumaat. He said five LCS were being built concurrently, with the first ship at the 60% completion stage, followed by the rest at 48%, 43%, 36% and 22% completion stages respectively. However, construction has yet to begin on the sixth ship. “Five ships [are] under construction with various stages of completion. Of the RM6 billion allocated for this project, as much as RM1.8 billion of equipment and systems have already been installed on the five ships,” he said during a media visit to the dockyard and warehouses here on Saturday (Aug 13). Backlash came quickly, and the artists were just as quick to respond. Lizzo took to Instagram to announce she had edited the lyric, noting, "I never want to promote derogatory language." Beyoncé's team issued a similar response within days of her album release, stating, "the word, not used intentionally in a harmful way, will be replaced." The term in question, "spaz," first appeared on "Grrrls," a single released by Lizzo in June. The index witnessed bullish candle formation on the weekly scale for the fourth consecutive week, indicating the mood is positive, while on the daily charts, there was a small-bodied bullish candlestick pattern with a higher high formation.
