Viet Nam News HÀ NỘI — FastGo Việt Nam Company Limited under the NextTech Group launched its ride-hailing service, “FastGo,” here on Tuesday after three years of development. This is the first ride-hailing app to offer insurance to customers for all trips, not charge drivers for discounted rates and provide driver partners with many benefits. Safety is assured on every ride with an insurance of up to VNĐ200 million (US$8,700) through partner Fast Protection. The service will charge driver partners a maximum of VNĐ30,000 per day and will organise supporting activities so that they can experience a professional working environment. Eighteen Vietnamese and foreign auto companies will participate in the 2018 Vietnam Motor Show in HCM City next October. Ford Ecoport. Ford is one among 18 brands joining the Vietnam Motor Show 2018. According to the organisers, the Viet Nam Auto Manufacturers Association (VAMA) and Viet Nam Car Importers Association (VIVA), this is the first time since 2015 that members of both associations have taken part in an exhibition. “The co-operation between two associations marks an important step for the auto industry. Viet Nam News HÀ NỘI — Experts have called on the Government of Việt Nam to make salt iodisation mandatory once again or at least promote the production and use of iodised salt in food processing and breeding. This is urgent as the country is one of just 19 iodine-deficient countries in the world, according to the Iodine Global Network, a non-profit organisation for the sustainable elimination of iodine deficiency worldwide. Thanks to iodised salt, the number of iodine-deficient countries has decreased from 110 in 1993 to only 19 in 2017. In Việt Nam, salt iodisation was mandatory from 1994 until 2005, at which time 93 % of households were using adequately iodised salt. Under the subsequent period of voluntary iodisation (2005 –2016), however, the proportion of households using iodised salt rapidly declined to 45% in 2010.
