Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Topline Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) told Newsmax Thursday night he’s not interested in becoming former President Donald Trump’s running mate in 2024, as the right-wing governor has fallen further in the polls to Trump in recent weeks even before he’s formally committed to running for president. Key Facts DeSantis was asked on Newsmax if he would be Trump’s vice president in 2024, to which he responded he’s “more of an executive guy.” “I think that you want to be able to do things,” DeSantis added, saying that’s “part of the reason why I got into the job” as governor and is “probably what I’m most suited for.” When asked about whether he would choose Trump as his running mate if DeSantis won the 2024 nomination, the governor just said, “That’s interesting speculation,” before pivoting to discuss how “if the Biden regime continues .. this country’s going to be in really, really bad shape.” DeSantis … [Read more...] about DeSantis Rules Out Being Trump’s VP: ‘More Of An Executive Guy’

March 15, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Locks and padlocks have been witnessing a renaissance in jewelry, borrowing inspiration from both Victorian symbolism and 1980s punk-inspired hardware. Independent designers are influenced by the more romantic spirit of the 19th century, while legendary jewelers such as Tiffany & Co. and fashion houses such as Vuitton and Hermes are reimagining their original designs. Tiffany & Co. modern ‘Hardwear’ collection Historically, the padlock in jewelry dates back to the 19th century, featuring intricate and often coded messages and motifs. During this period, bracelets and necklaces were traditionally given when a man had to travel. The locks were secured with a key upon his departure and unlocked upon his return. Allusions to chastity and fidelity were also part of the symbolism, but today, we recognize these jewels as tokens of affection and passion. Microsoft Introduces AI Copilot For The Microsoft 365 Suite For Billions Of Productivity Users

March 16, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin I attended a small event in Redmond, Washington, in early February, where Microsoft introduced the new Bing powered by ChatGPT—the first of many recent AI innovations that promise to forever change the conversation about AI. I believe it launched a transformational change in technology not seen since the introduction of the modern internet, not just with AI chatbots, but with how large language models (LLMs) will affect many aspects of our lives. Microsoft waved the proverbial green flag that day, and from that point the AI race has heated up in a way I’m not sure anyone could have predicted. The speed and progression of announcements made since then has been staggering—and it doesn’t look like it is slowing down. The company’s latest announcement, today, the introduction of Microsoft 365 Copilo t, has the potential to change the way everyday productivity tools are used by 100s of millions if not billions of people. Let's … [Read more...] about Microsoft Introduces AI Copilot For The Microsoft 365 Suite For Billions Of Productivity Users

In China, Tesla could win electric vehicle price battle – but lose the war

February 13, 2023 by business.inquirer.net

A person walks past an XPeng G9 electric vehicle (EV) at its flagship store in Beijing, China Feb 2, 2023. REUTERS/Tingshu Wang SHANGHAI  – Slashed prices have given Tesla’s China sales a pop, but analysts – and even fans – warn the U.S. automaker needs to up its long-term game to avoid choking on the dust of fast-moving rivals in the world’s biggest electric vehicle market. Most immediately, Tesla’s January price cuts drove deliveries of its China-made vehicles up 18 percent from December. Tesla’s thick profit margins have put it in a position to take a price war to competitors in China and beyond, analysts say. But they say Tesla has lagged competitors in China in introducing new models, improving navigation systems and adding luxe interior touches or white-glove customer service to serve the developing range of consumer preferences for EVs. “Tesla’s facing a serious problem of a very limited product mix,” said Cui Dongshu, secretary general of China Passenger Car … [Read more...] about In China, Tesla could win electric vehicle price battle – but lose the war

Europe Fires First Shot In ‘Green’ Trade War Against The Biden Admin

March 16, 2023 by dailycaller.com

The European Commission proposed legislation Thursday designed to enhance the European Union’s (EU) “competitiveness” with the United States and China on green technologies. The new legislation, known as the Net-Zero Industry Act , is poised to simplify permitting for green projects, increase funding for carbon capture and develop an information platform to support projects’ financial needs, among other incentives, according to a Commission press release . EU officials have been growing increasingly concerned that its transition toward green technologies would leave it reliant on industries located in the U.S. and China, spurring plans to reinvigorate the bloc’s industrial sector, Reuters reported March 10. (RELATED: Democrats’ Climate Bill Sparks Potential Green Trade War With Europe) “The bottom line is that we want to be leaders in the green industries of the future,” European Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovksis said at a news conference Thursday, … [Read more...] about Europe Fires First Shot In ‘Green’ Trade War Against The Biden Admin
