May 15, 2022 by www.moneycontrol.com

Trade Watchlist Portfolio Message Set Alert live bse live nse live Volume Todays L/H More × The primary market will be buzzing in the coming week due to multiple IPO launches and a mega listing, though too much volatility in the secondary market amid global growth concerns and inflation worries after the Ukraine war seem to have impacted grey market premiums of each one. Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is set to make its much awaited market debut on Tuesday, May 17. This would be the ninth listing on the BSE and NSE in the current calendar year. The grey market premium clearly indicated that the country's largest life insurance company is expected to see either flat or negative listing compared to issue price of Rs 949, but experts say given the retail investors, employees and policyholders received shares at a major discount, this is still expected to be a premium … [Read more...] about Primary Market Action | Grand LIC listing, 3 IPO launches next week

Elon Musk won’t have a board to watch him when he takes Twitter private does that matter?

April 26, 2022 by www.moneycontrol.com

Elon Musk It appears Twitter ’s board of directors finally warmed to Elon Musk ’ hostile bid and agreed to a sale but not before it took a severe beating from the Tesla and SpaceX billionaire, Twitter founder Jack Dorsey and other prominent users on their own social network. Musk, who on April 25, 2022, sealed a deal to buy Twitter for US$44 billion, criticized board members for owning almost no shares of the company they oversee. Dorsey, who will step down from his seat on Twitter’s board at the end of his term in May 2022, called it the dysfunction of the company. Conservative politicians derided the board as scared of free speech. Dow Theory: Is It Still Relevant? Editor Of TheDowTheory.Com Says Yes

May 12, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Manuel Blay is editor of TheDowTheory.com , a website that closely tracks the price movements of the Dow Industrials, the Dow Transports and the Dow Utilities, among other indexes. It’s an old-school type of looking at charts that you don’t hear about much when technical analysts gather to compare notes. Blay says you should be paying attention, there’s lots to be learned. I had a chance to ask him some questions about it and here’s how it went: John Navin : Dow Theory is an old form of price chart analysis. Why is it still relevant? Manuel Blay : It is more relevant than ever for three reasons: 1) Because it works. By this, I mean: it cuts drawdowns and outperforms buy and hold. And it performs much better than its trend-following competitors, namely moving averages and breakout systems. 2) Because it was a track record spanning +120 years (for stocks). 3) Because it can be applied to many markets. … [Read more...] about Dow Theory: Is It Still Relevant? Secondhand Could Supplant Fast Fashion in a Decade, ThredUp & The RealReal Are Leading the Way

March 26, 2019 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Two major players have emerged in the fashion resale market, ThredUp and The RealReal thredup.com, therealreal.com My wife and I recently drove from Minneapolis to Chicago to visit our youngest daughter, who is in PR and social media marketing, she is also a life-long fashionista. So besides hitting a few of Chicago’s many terrific eateries, we indulged in some retail therapy; primarily in the trendy Wicker Park neighborhood. For those not familiar with this area, it’s a magnet for GenY professionals, and has a rich mix of upscale indie retailers, digital native brands, and an unexpectedly large offering of resale and consignment stores. It became clear to me that much of what I’d been reading about the ‘second hand economy’ was alive and thriving here. Also, the notion that this segment was a one-note play on the rummage or thrift store of the past was quickly negated. A high level of merchandising and creative … [Read more...] about Secondhand Could Supplant Fast Fashion in a Decade, ThredUp & The RealReal Are Leading the Way
