Hamish Fraser first encountered Babylon Health in 2017 when he and a colleague helped test the accuracy of several artificial intelligence-powered symptom checkers, meant to offer medical advice for anyone with a smartphone, for Wired U.K. Among the competitors, Babylon’s symptom checker performed worst in identifying common illnesses, including asthma and shingles. Mastercard has started testing a new digital service that has the potential to verify a person’s identity immediately, safely and securely in both the digital and the physical world.The initial in-market pilot will take place in Australia through two separate efforts with Australia Post and Deakin University.“Our increasingly digital life – the way we transact and interact – has challenged our traditional notions of identity, trust and privacy. Guwahati, the epicentre of anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Bill protests, was placed under indefinite curfew on December 11.The Army was called in at four places and Assam Rifles personnel were deployed in Tripura on December 11 as the two Northeast states plunged into chaos over the hugely emotive Bill, reports suggest.Army PRO Lt Col P Khongsai said that two Army columns have been deployed in Guwahati and were carrying out flag marches. The law, prima facie, strictly deals with issues of personal data and places stringent restrictions on “data fiduciary” and also imposes strict sanctions against violations.
