Happy Valentine’s Day Senator Klobuchar: Bruce Springsteen’s Ticket Prices For His February 14th Show Are Crashing

February 5, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Just this week the Senate Judiciary Committee posted an ominous message to Ticketmaster regarding their upcoming sale of tickets for Beyoncé. They took to Twitter to say “ We’re watching @Ticketmaster. ” Since when does the legislative branch of government communicate in the same cadence as Tony Soprano? It is as if the Senators don’t believe the free market works. Perhaps that makes sense in today’s Washington D.C. where George Santos inexplicably remains a sitting member of Congress and a certain ex-President is campaigning on a platform that his 2020 election “victory” was stolen. In the land of reality, tickets trade like any items of value. The prices move up and down based upon supply and demand. Those in the know understand that Bruce Springsteen is almost universally regarded as a stellar artist and performer. Along with that reputation is the lesser known truth that demand for his tickets is always high in New … [Read more...] about Happy Valentine’s Day Senator Klobuchar: Bruce Springsteen’s Ticket Prices For His February 14th Show Are Crashing

What Does Seattle Sounders Club World Cup Defeat Mean For US Soccer?

February 5, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Seattle Sounders defender Alex Roldan sank to the turf, head in hands in disappointment after inadvertently deflecting Mohamed Afsha’s volley past goalkeeper Stefan Frei. The goal, credited to Afsha, was enough to give Al Ahly the win and see them advance to the semifinal of the FIFA Club World Cup at the Sounders expense—with the added reward of a matchup against storied European champions, Real Madrid. As referee Anthony Taylor blew the final whistle, the players and staff on Al Ahly’s bench streamed onto the pitch in celebration. The crowd erupted, with the most concentrated celebrations coming from a group of hardcore Ahly supporters behind one of the goals. It was as if a cup final had been won, while Roldan’s reaction was as if one had been lost. Outside of the European soccer bubble, maybe this tournament means something after all. It was certainly meaningful for Seattle Sounders, and arguably for American … [Read more...] about What Does Seattle Sounders Club World Cup Defeat Mean For US Soccer?

US military shoots down Chinese spy balloon

February 5, 2023 by thethaiger.com

Chinese spy balloon ,screen grab. The US military shot down a suspected Chinese spy balloon over the Atlantic Ocean off the Eastern Seaboard of the United States yesterday according to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. President Joe Biden approved the operation, which resulted in a diplomatic fallout between Washington and Beijing. The balloon was first spotted in the sky over Montana earlier in the week and had travelled across the country before being shot down off the coast of South Carolina. The discovery of the balloon prompted US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to postpone his diplomatic visit to China this week. Biden faced criticism from Republicans for allowing the balloon to continue drifting above the continental US for days, CNN reported. Military officials had advised against shooting down the balloon while over the US mainland due to the risk posed by the debris to civilians and property on the ground. However, they maintained that all options were on the … [Read more...] about US military shoots down Chinese spy balloon

How Hard Should We Push Generative AI ChatGPT Into Spewing Hate Speech, Asks AI Ethics And AI Law

February 5, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Everyone has their breaking point. I suppose you could also say that everything has its breaking point. We know that humans for example can sometimes snap and utter remarks that they don’t necessarily mean to say. Likewise, you can at times get a device or machine to essentially snap, such as pushing your car too hard and it starts to falter or fly apart. Thus, the notion is that people or “everyone” likely has a breaking point, and similarly we can assert that objects and things, in general, also tend to have a breaking point. There could be quite sensible and vital reasons to ascertain where the breaking point exists. For example, you’ve undoubtedly seen those videos showcasing a car being put through its paces to identify what breaking points it has. Scientists and testers will ram a car into a brick wall to see how well the bumper and the structure of the vehicle can withstand the adverse action. Other tests … [Read more...] about How Hard Should We Push Generative AI ChatGPT Into Spewing Hate Speech, Asks AI Ethics And AI Law
