With a solid chance of landing two top-five picks in the 2021 NBA Draft, they ended up with zero. This time around, the odds worked in Oklahoma City’s favor. On Tuesday night, the lottery was set to determine the final draft order for the 2022 NBA Draft. Entering the event, the Thunder had the fourth and 12th best odds of any team in the lottery. (FILE PHOTO) MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) expects its personnel to grow by over 24,000 in 2022 after new recruits complete their training, the Department of Transportation (DOTr), its parent agency, said in a statement on Wednesday. The PCG strength is over 22,000 members — 2,636 officers (878 females and 1,758 males) and 19,754 non-officers (2,831 females and 16,923 males). There are also 221 civilian PCG employees (163 are females and 58 are males), while 1,757 more are expected to finish training this year, bringing the total to 24,368. A survey conducted from April 19 to 27 showed that 43 percent of Filipinos rated themselves as “poor” while 34 percent felt “borderline poor.” Twenty-three percent, meanwhile, considered themselves “not poor,” according to the survey, which was released Wednesday. The Unmanned Aircraft System Rules, 2021, was notified by the Centre on March 12. Digital Sky, the online platform hosted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for various activities related to the management of drones in India, will be fully functional by October 2022, the regulatory body under the Ministry of Civil Aviation said. Drone manufacturing and services will create a multitude of jobs and is touted to be an over Rs 30,000-crore industry, Ministry of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia said on May 10. Addressing the “Experience Studio on Drones” event organised by the government think tank Niti Aayog, Scindia said, "The potential is huge in the drone industry. On the manufacturing side, we are looking at Rs 5,000 crore investments and creation of 10,000 jobs. On the services side, we are looking at creating a Rs 30,000-crore industry."
