Photographer: Suzanne Cordeiro/AFP/Getty Images Twitter users woke up April 4 and found the words “Elon” and “Elon Musk” trending on the site — not because the world’s richest, most-followed businessman had caused a stir with his futuristic companies, but because he’d disclosed a major stake in Twitter Inc. Suddenly, Musk was Twitter’s largest individual shareholder, with more than 9% of the company, and speculation swirled about how he would influence the network’s future. He’d been frequently tweeting ideas for revamping the social media platform. Over the next week, Musk would accept an offer to join Twitter’s board of directors and, in a sudden reversal, reject that offer five days later, leaving the company’s management, employees, investors and interested observers guessing about his plans. Chernobyl radiation ‘abnormal’ since Russian takeover: IAEA chief
Chernobyl plant (AFP) The UN atomic watchdog chief on Tuesday described radiation levels at the Chernobyl nuclear disaster site as "abnormal", saying the area's brief Russian occupation had been "very, very dangerous". "The radiation level, I would say, is abnormal," said International Atomic Energy Agency director Rafael Grossi during a visit on the anniversary of the world's worst nuclear disaster. "There have been some moments when the levels have gone up because of the movement of the heavy equipment that Russian forces were bringing here, and when they left," he said. "We are following that day by day." Speaking as he arrived at the sarcophagus that covers the nuclear reactor's radioactive remains, he said the takeover by Russian forces had been "absolutely abnormal and very, very dangerous". JetBlue Goes Hostile In Takeover Bid Of Spirit Airlines
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin H ell hath no fury like an airline scorned. Two weeks after its merger proposal was rejected, JetBlue is going hostile in its effort to acquire Spirit Airlines. The social network will prohibit content that misleads users about war crimes, mass attacks and events on the ground, among other things. “As soon as we have evidence that a claim may be misleading, we won’t amplify or recommend content that is covered by this policy across Twitter,” Yoel Roth, Twitter’s head of safety and integrity, writes in a blog post . Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin It was a rocky week for Tesla shares– until Musk’s early Friday tweet. That helped the electric vehicle maker regain some lost ground.
