The Insurance regulator Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has proposed to reduce third party premiums for FY19 in certain segments starting April 1. This reduction in the premium rates will encourage the vehicle owners to get the mandatory Third-Party Motor Insurance for their cars and bikes.It will also provide insurers with an opportunity to come up with cheaper comprehensive insurance policies that provide financial assistance in case of an eventuality to the owner’s vehicle.Third Party Insurance Rates for Two-WheelersClose IRDA’s new third-party premium rate is good news for riders who are riding two-wheelers with having less than 75 cc engine. Though the performance on volumes remained disappointing, company succeeded to offset the impact partially by enhancing FSA realisations through improvement in grades and higher realisations on auction of linkages in non-power segment. Admittedly, volume growth would hold the key as the performance stands unjustified in light of two major rail lines (loading incremental 20mtpa or 3.5% growth over FY19 base) commissioned in Odisha and Jharkhand during later part of FY19. Moody's Investors Service on Wednesday said it has assigned a 'Baa1' rating to the proposed senior unsecured notes to be issued by Oil and Natural Gas Corp under its USD 2 billion medium-term note program.
