Business Insider went back in time to rank all the network's notable original scripted programs from the last 11 years based on how well they did with critics. Showtime launched in 1976 and is now owned by CBS. Its original programming took off in the 1990s with shows like "Twin Peaks" and "Stargate SG-1." But it really grew into a powerhouse in the late 2000s with shows like "Weeds" and "Dexter." “Riverdale” is one of the most popular TV shows currently on TV and its cast is now one of the most recognisable. But for some of the actors, this fame is new. While some of the parents, played by actors including Luke Perry and Mädchen Amick, had broken out in the 90s, most of the young actors hadn’t been on many shows, with the exception of Cole Sprouse. While Technomic data showed its sales declined 2 percent from 2016 to 2017, and its store count remained flat. But Carl Sweat, Hooters of America’s chief marketing officer, disputed that.
