A Florida school district will require transgender students to fill out paperwork documenting their transition if they wish to change their name and pronouns at school, according to ABC 7. Lee County School District in Florida implemented a “gender support plan” which asks students their transgender status, if they have support at home for their gender identity and which educators should know the student’s status, according to ABC 7. The Lee County School Board adopted the plan on Tuesday as a response to Republican Florida Gov. Ron Desantis’ Parental Rights in Education law . (RELATED: Florida Tells Its Schools To Ignore Biden’s ‘Gender Identity’ Rules) Lee County School District parent Crystal Czyscon called the gender support plan “frightening” because of how personal some of the questions are, according to ABC. The document also requires a plan if the child is “outed.” “It’s going to keep some of them in the closet when they really should be coming out,” Arlene … [Read more...] about Florida School District Rolls Out Plan To Document Transgender Students’ Transition

A Fair And Inclusive Solution For Transgender Women In Sports
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin By Donna Lopiano and Mariah Burton Nelson To include or to exclude? That’s the question at the core of the debate about transgender women in sports. But that’s a binary way of thinking about a nonbinary situation. It presumes only two types of people: men and women. People are more diverse than that. We propose a third option since trans women themselves transcend our traditional way of thinking about how individuals fit in either female or male biological categories. The fact that trans girls and women were born with biologically male bodies means that even after taking hormones or undergoing surgery or both, they don’t fit neatly into female or male categories, biologically speaking. In sports, those categories matter. So, our policies should not be binary either. We need a creative solution. Fair competition is why separate women’s sports were created. Competitive sport (which does not include recreational … [Read more...] about A Fair And Inclusive Solution For Transgender Women In Sports
Suspended Florida Prosecutor Accuses Governor DeSantis Of ‘Illegal Overreach’
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Topline Florida state attorney Andrew Warren accused Governor Ron DeSantis (R) of “spit[ting] in the face of” voters on Thursday by suspending him for vowing not to criminalize abortion and gender-affirming care, a move the prosecutor argued constitutes an “illegal overreach” and power grab as the GOP governor eyes a presidential run. Key Facts DeSantis announced Thursday that he had suspended Warren, who oversaw the state’s 13th judicial circuit, for “neglect of duty” and believing that he “thinks he has the authority to defy the Florida Legislature and nullify . . . criminal laws with which he disagrees.” Warren hit back in a statement , calling the act a “political stunt” and accusing DeSantis of “using his office to further his own political ambition,” going against voters who “elected me to serve them, not Ron DeSantis.” The order suspending Warren pointed to a June 2021 letter he and other … [Read more...] about Suspended Florida Prosecutor Accuses Governor DeSantis Of ‘Illegal Overreach’
‘It’s Just Not Fair’: Virginia Mom To Call On State Legislature After School Suspended Her Kids For Not Wearing Masks
Fairfax County Public Schools suspended Stephanie Lundquist-Arora’s three sons for not wearing masks after they had received permission to do so. “Isn’t it crazy that his future academic pursuits can be affected by conscientious civil disobedience when he’s 12-years-old over a piece of cloth on his face?” Lundquist-Arora told the Daily Caller News Foundation. After a failed lawsuit and appeals, Lundquist-Arora plans to call on Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin for help wiping her sons’ records clean. A Virginia mother is preparing to call on Republican Virginia Gov. Monkeypox Transmissions Linked to LGBTQ Community
The dating app Grindr is warning its 11 million LGBTQ community users that Monkeypox has been linked to men who have sex with men. The warning comes after the monkeypox virus has quickly spread to the LGBTQ communities in countries such as the United Kingdom, Canada, Spain, and the United States, CNN reports. Monkeypox is characterized by blister-like rashes, which has led to misdiagnosis as a sexually transmitted infection in gay, bisexual, and transgender people. Additionally, it seems that the virus spreads in a similar way to STIs: through close, intimate contact. Virologists say it’s possible to spread the monkeypox undetected if it is misdiagnosed repeatedly – and patients infected would not have access to appropriate treatment. It is generally believed that monkeypox spreads through large respiratory droplets, contact with sores, or sharing of bedsheets or clothing with someone shedding the virus. So far, most of the new cases have been associated with men who have … [Read more...] about Monkeypox Transmissions Linked to LGBTQ Community

Editor Daily Rundown: Biden Admin Fighting To Seize Power Over You
BIDEN ADMIN FIGHTING TO SEIZE POWER OVER YOU, SAYS FAUCI… Fauci Admits Fight Over Travel Mask Mandate Is All About Hoarding Power (VIDEO) Dr. Anthony Fauci, the top medical adviser to the White House, admitted Wednesday that the battle over the Biden administration’s travel mask mandate is really about public health officials maintaining as much power as possible. President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) filed with a federal appeals court Tuesday against an April decision which overturned the public transportation and airplane mask mandate that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had in place during the COVID-19 pandemic. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle ruled in April that the CDC was overstepping its legal authority by forcing Americans to wear a mask any time they travel. Fauci told Fox News’ Neil Cavuto that the Biden administration’s fight against that ruling wasn’t so much about the mandate itself, but conserving the power of the … [Read more...] about Editor Daily Rundown: Biden Admin Fighting To Seize Power Over You
6 Ways To Create An Eating Disorder Informed Workplace
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin “An eating disorder informed workplace would be careful not to comment on people’s bodies, and not to encourage weight loss through competition or diet talk,” says Rebecca Eyre. Eyre is an eating disorder therapist and the CEO of Project HEAL , a non-profit that helps connect under-resourced people to eating disorder treatment at little to no cost. Research shows that at least 10% of people in the U.S. are affected by eating disorders. However, Eyre shares that this number is likely much higher, potentially closer to the majority of Americans. Work is an unavoidable venue that might be challenging for people with eating disorder histories or who are actively seeking treatment. Here’s what Project HEAL recommends for creating an eating disorder informed workplace: 1. Recognize that eating disorders can affect anyone, no matter their size, race, gender, or sexual orientation. While employers may be readily … [Read more...] about 6 Ways To Create An Eating Disorder Informed Workplace
Editor Daily Rundown: Democrat Handwringing Accelerates Ahead Of Midterm Elections
DEM HANDWRINGING ACCELERATES… HILL : Democratic anxiety grows over Biden’s dismal polls Democrats are growing increasingly worried about President Biden’s standing in the polls seven months out from the midterm elections. Biden hasn’t seen a boost in his approval ratings amid Russia’s war in Ukraine despite support among Americans for the steps that he has taken. While the economy continues to gain jobs and the unemployment rate is low, something Biden touted on Friday, inflation is at a 40-year high and gas prices are through the roof, exacerbated by the Russian invasion. Democrats for months have feared they will lose the House majority this fall, and they are worried about losing the Senate, too, with polls showing Biden performing poorly in key states such as Arizona. “It’s bad,” said one Democratic strategist. “You have an energy crisis that’s paralyzing and inflation is at a 40-year high and we’re heading into a recession. The problem is simple. The American … [Read more...] about Editor Daily Rundown: Democrat Handwringing Accelerates Ahead Of Midterm Elections
