The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released a list of 30 major wilful defaulters in response to an RTI filed by The Wire in May this year.This comes four years after the Supreme Court first directed the central bank to make public a list of the country's wilful defaulters.Among the 30 defaulters, three companies belong to fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi.Close The publication said that the total outstanding advances to these 30 companies adds up to over Rs 50,000 crore. TRAI on November 21 asked telcos to submit, on a monthly basis, lists of permanently disconnected mobile numbers on the authority's website in a bid to enable companies which use subscriber mobile numbers for identification and authentication to keep their systems updated.The latest move by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is aimed at ensuring that banks, insurance companies and others would have a ready list (without names) of mobile numbers that are disconnected. Post SEBI's diktat on scheme consolidation for the fund industry, Association of Mutual Funds in India, the mutual fund lobby, has issued a list of ranked stocks based on their market capitalisation.According to AMFI large cap stocks are Top 1-100 companies in terms of full market capitalisation, while the mid cap stocks comprise 101-250 companies, and small cap stocks would consist stocks beyond 250 companies in terms of full market capitalization.AMFI has ranked close to 5,250 stocks – 100 large caps, 150 mid caps and the rest small cap.Close AMFI on its website stated, "SEBI has defined large cap, mid cap and small cap companies in order to ensure uniformity in respect of the investment universe for equity mutual fund schemes.
