Generative AI blurs the line between human-produced and AI-proposed content. (Representational image) ChatGPT, like the 90s character Vicki from "Small Wonder," uses AI to process and convert information into knowledge. While offering great opportunities, it also has potential harm, making regulation crucial to minimise risk. Inaccuracy, Biased Outcomes AI is prone to biased outcomes. Generative AI as a predictive tool is trained using a massive amount of data to provide a human-like response and critical thinking. However, there is less clarity on the integrity, quality, and diversity of the data used for training their language models. The premise of using past datasets to predict future outcomes is concerning, as these applications will be prone to reproduce the same mistakes and patterns in future, causing real-life implications for humans. For instance, training data of ChatGPT goes only until 2021, and if any individual has exercised their right to be forgotten … [Read more...] about Regulation of generative AI like ChatGPT and Bard mustn’t hinder their growth

DANIEL OLIVER: The Simply Terrible, Unimaginably Awful Biden Speech To The Nation
Does anyone give a worse speech than President Joe Biden? That alone should make us hope he doesn’t run again. His State of the Union speech was awful! But that was not unexpected. There were of course, the polite platitudes: “Mr. Speaker, I look forward to working together.” Ha! Can he really be looking forward to working with Speaker Kevin McCarthy! Not likely, but that’s just the obligatory politeness — and gives the audience a chance to get used to the sound of his voice. (RELATED: BASTASCH: You Might Have Missed This, But Biden Just Made A Stunning Admission About His Energy Agenda) Some of what he said was just ordinary political jaywalking: “Two years ago, COVID had shut down our businesses, closed our schools, and robbed us of so much.” Well, not exactly. And then some brave politicians looked at the facts and reopened their states, e.g., Governor Ron DeSantis. But then … [Read more...] about DANIEL OLIVER: The Simply Terrible, Unimaginably Awful Biden Speech To The Nation
Elon Musk’s ‘Pedo Guy’ Tweet Isn’t Defamation, Jury Rules
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Elon Musk’s irate tweet calling a little-known British rescue diver “pedo guy” can be described as many things — juvenile, rude, out of line maybe — but it’s not defamation, a California jury of three men and five women declared Friday. According to the ruling which followed the four-day trial , Musk is not liable for damages. “My faith in humanity is restored,” Musk told reporters as he left the courtroom. The suit, which Musk characterized as a “shakedown” on Wednesday, sought unspecified damages. Forbes estimates his net worth to be $23.7 billion , as of December 3, 2019. The billionaire tech entrepreneur spent nearly four hours on the stand in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles Wednesday, holding fast to his conceit that “pedo guy,” his description of Vernon Unsworth, the diver and cave expert involved in the 2018 rescue of a junior soccer team trapped in a Thailand cave system, is not synonymous with “child … [Read more...] about Elon Musk’s ‘Pedo Guy’ Tweet Isn’t Defamation, Jury Rules

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Founder & Chief Executive Officer at Blyncsy , Inc. Work zone safety is imperative in today’s world, especially as we race toward a future of autonomous driving. The federal government just took a massive step toward improving the way we think about work zones with the Work Zone Data Exchange . WZDx allows agencies to upload harmonized work zone data to public feeds so that everybody can easily access data and make informed decisions. With this central focus on data, the WZDx initiative is poised to make a significant impact on our roads by more accurately informing drivers of what’s ahead. Accessing timely and accurate work zone data has proven to be a complicated issue.
