Newly-listed housing developer Haus Talk Inc. (HTI) reported a triple-digit annual increase in revenues and net income in the first nine months of 2021, citing robust demand for its housing products despite the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. HTI recorded P173.99 million in revenue in the first three quarters, reflecting a 164 percent growth from the previous year, HTI said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Friday. This resulted in a 107-percent growth in net income for the period, the company said, without disclosing the actual figure. The substantial rise in revenue was attributed mainly to its new projects in Antipolo—East View Residence Premiere and in San Pedro Laguna—South View Homes Calendola, which comprised of 53 percent of the total sales that supported revenue growth. The remaining 47 percent came from the sales of units in HTI’s existing projects. Furthermore, HTI—which caters to working class Filipinos—was able to secure licenses to sell new projects, … [Read more...] about Haus Talk sales, earnings surge on strong demand

On Jan. 5, General Motors ( NYSE:GM ) was showing off its shiny new Chevy Silverado electric vehicle (EV) at CES in Las Vegas. Ironically, the price of crude oil has been hitting multiyear highs in the days that have followed. It's an interesting contrast. Profits for both EV companies and oil companies are surging. In this video from Motley Fool Backstage Pass , recorded on Jan. 6 , Fool contributor Travis Hoium explains to fellow contributor Jon Quast what's driving the high price of oil right now. And the question remains whether oil companies will increase production to increase profits or whether they'll push consumers toward EVs by allowing oil prices to remain elevated. Jon Quast: We are talking about oil prices. Travis, I think that you said that they are hitting close to a five-year high, or was it a seven-year high? Travis Hoium: One of the two. It's been a while since we've been where we are in the oil market today. If you look at the S&P … [Read more...] about Here’s Why Crude Oil Is Over $80 Per Barrel
On Oct. 18, news broke that Meta Platforms ( NASDAQ:FB ) , which was then called Facebook, planned to hire 10,000 people in the European Union to start building its version of the metaverse. Then on Oct. 28, the company went a step further by announcing its name will no longer be Facebook, but rather Meta Platforms -- an announcement that clearly signals the company's primary priority. The metaverse is a digital world where people interact and transact just like they do in the real world. And Meta isn't the only company investing in it -- many are. Fool analyst Sanmeet Deo and contributor Jon Quast tackled the subject on Motley Fool Backstage Pass in this clip recorded on Oct. 18 , talking about how patient investors might need to be when investing in this concept. Jon Quast: For our viewers, I got the name of the company now. It's Niantic. They're a private company. You can't invest in them. What is interesting about Niantic is they do have a vision for the … [Read more...] about Facebook Plans to Hire 10,000 New Workers. Time to Invest in the Metaverse?
One of the more intriguing crypto-related companies is Coinbase ( NASDAQ:COIN ) . A company that's inherently tied to crypto markets, but moves independently, could see a surge in interest from new opportunities. On the Jan. 5 episode of "The Crypto Show" on Backstage Pass, The Motley Fool's Eric Bleeker and Fool.com contributor Chris MacDonald discuss one potential catalyst for Coinbase. Eric Bleeker: "The race is on to be the App Store for crypto, a major lesson of Web 2.0 was that consumers love platforms. I don't think that's going to change for Web 3.0. Currently, there is no crypto platform that owns the customer relationship and aggregates suppliers. I predict that in 2022 many companies will race to build this platform with Coinbase in the lead as it integrates DeFi and NFTs." Now, Chris, part of why I wanted to put this in is, there is somewhat of a duality in crypto that is built on the idea of decentralization and you look at Web 3, taking that to a … [Read more...] about Could Coinbase Become the ‘App Store’ for the DeFi and NFT Space?
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin By Bernie Wong, MHS With 2022 now well under way, employers and people teams— 90% of them at that —are expanding their efforts to support the mental health of employees. Simultaneously at the individual level, Google’s Year in Search data for 2021 showed searches for mental health are similarly at an all-time high. With growing efforts come a growing number of articles, guides, and imagery of mental health, and it’s critical that employers and media alike make intentional choices when selecting visuals. An abundance of research shows that these choices will tangibly shape the way in which we come to understand mental health, others experiencing mental health challenges, and if, when, and what kinds of support people seek: “Visuals tend to signify what is considered ‘normal’ in our culture,” says Rebecca Rom-Frank, creative insights researcher at iStock. “Our Visual GPS research reveals that mental health is now a … [Read more...] about 3 Best Practices For Accurate And Inclusive Visuals Around Workplace Mental Health Communications
