ABS-CBN and TV5 joint venture (FILE PHOTO) MANILA, Philippines — Three resolutions seeking an investigation on the merger between media giants ABS-CBN and TV5, along with allegations that TV5 is foreign-owned, have been forwarded to the House of Representatives’ committee on legislative franchises on Wednesday. During the plenary session, House Resolutions (HR) No. 280, 281, and 282 were transmitted to the said committee for possible action. HR No. 280 authored by Zamboanga Sibugay 1st District Rep. 5 sales metrics to fast-track business growth
Red-hot inflation, slowing rural consumption, goods and services (GST) complications and the general decline of the unorganised sector are making it hard for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to drive sales and growth. As is with major business initiatives, an investment in adopting sales enablers requires making a business case. But, unlike other functions, sales and marketing processes are matured and there are enough performance metrics to evaluate investment effectiveness. SMEs can learn from these to measure sales efficiency as well as investment effectiveness. Start by outlining the impact on the execution of sales as a process. Every enterprise has hundreds of sales factors that can be measured, however, not more than five such metrics are needed for execution to succeed. Five metrics impact revenue attainment the most—number of opportunities or leads in the pipeline, average deal size, success rate, length of the sales cycle and the number of “active” sales staff. … [Read more...] about 5 sales metrics to fast-track business growth
Elon Musk Responds To Twitter’s Lawsuit Over $44 Billion Deal
(CTN News) – Elon Musk argued on Friday that Twitter’s September trial date is “unjustifiable” in the $44 billion merger case. After Elon Musk announced he was walking away from the deal, sued Elon Musk on Twitter to force him to complete the purchase. In September, Twitter sought a four-day trial, arguing that the deal must close by the end of October. By filing its lawsuit, Plaintiff has rendered its supposed need for a September trial moot,” Elon Musk’s attorney, Alex Spiro, wrote in a Friday court filing. “Twitter’s bid for extreme expedition depends on the false premise that the Termination Date in the merger agreement is October 24, glossing over that this date automatically stays if either party files litigation.” The Delaware Chancery Court will determine whether Musk is still obligated to purchase Twitter or whether he can walk away because he wasn’t provided with the requested data.. Twitter’s sudden request for warp speed after two months … [Read more...] about Elon Musk Responds To Twitter’s Lawsuit Over $44 Billion Deal

Russia’s ‘Fake’ Robot Gun Dog — And The Real Armed Robots
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin One of the unexpected stars of Russia’s Army-22 trade show was a robot dog dressed as a ninja and carrying an RPG-26 rocket launcher . However, the Twittersphere quickly spotted that the outfit looked like an attempt to conceal a Go-1 robot made by Chinese company Unitree, and the killer robodog was quickly labeled as a fake. But there is more going on here than you might think. Firstly, the Russian makers of the “M-81 robot” seem to be open about the fact that they use Chinese hardware, though they say they hope to produce a Russian version. The company, Machine Intellect, is based in St. Petersburg, and says their robot dogs could transport supplies, act as scouts, and carry out attack missions. On the face of it then, we have a company adapting commercially available robotic hardware to take on a new role, with no reason not to believe that far from being a fake, it is a viable combat platform. … [Read more...] about Russia’s ‘Fake’ Robot Gun Dog — And The Real Armed Robots
