Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Jen Kirk serves as the Chief of Staff of Revalize , a leading software provider building the future of manufacturing technology. As humans, we crave connection. When we are isolated or when our social bonds are threatened, we suffer. We instinctively know we are in trouble in relationships when we aren’t “talking” to each other. Similarly, in a world where everything is enabled by information, disconnected data is a death knell to any business or organization. Recognizing all the digital signals and making sense of them gives leaders the advantage of anticipating their biggest challenges and responding to them in real time. However, to make the most of this data, businesses must eliminate the noise, identify the most important pieces and deliver that information to the people who will act on it to make a difference. This process requires fast, easy and efficient access to relevant information. Through … [Read more...] about The Secret To Business Success Tomorrow? Accelerating Data Flow Today

5 Pivotal Soft Skills Essential For Success In Today’s Global Market

February 3, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Some business leaders still believe imposed pressure, iron-fisted leadership and punitive criticism build the organization and the company’s bottom line. Plus, they think if leaders require employees to work longer and harder, the business gets a bigger bang for its buck. I spoke to a CEO of a major corporation who said he was glad his employees were not taking all their vacation days because it saved the company money. What he failed to see was his outdated practices don’t increase profits; they increase stress, which in turn undermines engagement and profitability; whereas, soft skills decrease stress and increase engagement and profits. The Lingering Myth Of Soft Versus Hard Skills A lingering myth links soft skills—such as compassion, trust, empathy, connection and kindfulness—with weakness and ineptness, stigmatizing them as irrelevant and less valuable than hard, technical skills. Experts say that tough business … [Read more...] about 5 Pivotal Soft Skills Essential For Success In Today’s Global Market

Jobs Market Runs Red Hot In January, But Economists Fear Downturn Is Coming

February 3, 2023 by dailycaller.com

The U.S. added 517,000  jobs in January, more than two and a half times what economists anticipated, as the unemployment rate nudged down to 3.4%, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported Friday. Economists had predicted that the nation would add roughly 187,000 jobs, and that the unemployment rate would nudge up to 3.6% from 3.5%, roughly where it has lingered for the past several months , The Wall Street Journal reported . Previously, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell had estimated that the unemployment rate would climb to roughly 4.6% by the end of 2023, as markets slowed in response to the Fed’s anti-inflationary campaign of interest rate hikes, in a Dec. 14 press conference . At 3.4%, the unemployment rate hit the lowest level since May 1969 , as “widespread” job growth, led by 128,000 jobs added in the leisure and hospitality sector, pushed January’s job growth past the 2022 year-long average of 401,000 jobs per month, according to the BLS. Starbucks Stock Drops After Massive Decline In China Sales

February 2, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Topline Starbucks’ stock slid Thursday afternoon after the company missed its quarterly revenue estimate, in part because of an immense drop in sales across China as the country grappled with tight lockdowns followed by a renewed surge in the spread of the virus, resulting in reduced commerce that hurt retail businesses across the country—one of Starbucks’ largest markets. Key Facts The company reported $8.71 billion in quarterly revenue, setting a new record but falling short of Wall Street’s $8.78 billion estimate. Sales in North America rose 10% but tumbled 13% internationally, largely due to an eye-popping 28% decline in China. Starbucks also missed on earnings per share, reporting 75 cents after analysts expected 77 cents. The company’s share price declined more than 3% in after-hours trading to $105.81.
