Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) is scheduled to report its Q4 2022 results on Tuesday, January 24. We expect Lockheed Martin LMT to post mixed results, with its revenue slightly below but earnings landing above the street expectations. The company’s F-35 deliveries in December were impacted following a temporary pause in flight operations, resulting in 141 deliveries for the year, compared to the target of 148. [ 1 ] Last week Canada announced its plans to buy 88 F-35s in a $14 billion deal. However, LMT stock has been weighed down recently after one of the Wall Street research firms downgraded defense stocks citing concerns over possible reduced government defense spending. Although we expect the company to navigate well over the latest quarter, our forecast indicates that LMT stock is fairly valued at its current levels, as discussed below. Avoiding The Worst Mistake Investors Will Make In 2023
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The worst mistake investors will make this year won’t be getting caught with a stock on the heels of a disappointing earnings report. And with all due respect to economic prognosticators, it won’t be misjudging the Federal Reserve’s resolve fighting inflation—or the rising risk of a recession as the central bank pushes up interest rates at the fastest pace since the 1980s. Odds of another big stock market slide are growing. As my partner Elliott Gue wrote this week for our CT Trader members, the S&P 500 and ETFs tracking its performance are highly concentrated among a few very expensive stocks. And that’s a proven formula for losses. The 10 largest names in the S&P 500 by market capitalization, for example, are 26 percent of its total value. The top 50 names—the new Nifty 50 if you will—are more than 56 percent, close to the share they held a year ago when the stock market started dropping. Worse, the … [Read more...] about Avoiding The Worst Mistake Investors Will Make In 2023
What To Expect From Charles Schwab Stock In Q4?
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Charles Schwab (NYSE: SCHW) is scheduled to report its fiscal Q4 2022 results on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. We expect it to post mixed results, with earnings topping the consensus estimates but revenues missing the mark by a small margin. The company outpaced the street expectations in the last quarter, with net revenues increasing 20% y-o-y to $5.5 billion. It was primarily driven by a 44% jump in the net interest income (NII) and a 28% rise in bank deposit account fees. That said, the growth was somewhat offset by lower asset management & administration fees and a drop in trading income. We expect the same trend to continue in the fourth quarter. Our forecast indicates that Charles Schwab’s valuation is $92 per share, which is 11% above the current market price of around $83. News Corp’s Stock Down 15% Over Last Year, What’s Next?
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin [Note: News Corp Fiscal Year Ends in June] After a 15% decline over the last year, at the current price of around $19 per share, we believe News Corp stock (NASDAQ NDAQ : NWSA), a global, diversified media and information services company, is fairly priced. NWSA stock fell from around $23 to $19 over the last year, in line with the broader indices, with the S&P also falling about 15% over the same period. The stock declines during this period can be attributed to fears of a slowing economy driven by inflation. The company also missed estimates on both the top and bottom lines in the recent fiscal Q1 (ended Sept 2022). News Corp’s revenues declined marginally year-over-year (y-o-y) to $2.5 billion while its profitability declined 79% y-o-y to 7 cents in Q1. The results were driven by lower physical book sales from Amazon’s AMZN reset of its inventory levels and rightsizing of its warehouse footprint and the … [Read more...] about News Corp’s Stock Down 15% Over Last Year, What’s Next?

Bed Bath & Beyond Meme Stock Bounce Flops Toward Bankruptcy
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Days after Bed Bath & Beyond’s BBBY stock value experienced it’s latest unexpected surge, it appears it’s not just like Robin Hood after all. The pioneering home goods retailer saw its share price enjoy another ‘Gamestop moment’ last week as a meme stock that near doubled in value – albeit from a rock bottom base – but come Friday last, it was flat-lining yet again. The slump followed a week in which speculation on online stock forums, including Reddit, that it might be a potential acquisition target, fell out of bed. And now Bed Bath & Beyond appears to be heading for bankruptcy and the company admitted last week it could enter Chapter 11 bankruptcy within weeks, and has doubts it can stay in business after a quarter of deep losses and declining sales. Even last week’s mini-rally – which took its shares to close to $5 – was down 68% over the year. Now that price has slipped back to less than $3.50. … [Read more...] about Bed Bath & Beyond Meme Stock Bounce Flops Toward Bankruptcy
