Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin After nearly a month of acrimonious negotiations around the economics of starting the season, Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association agreed on health and safety protocols that will allow for a pandemic-shortened 60-game regular season to take place for 2020. According to MLB, opening weekend will be July 24-26, with the end of the regular season slated for September 27. Players will begin reporting now for spring training 2.0 but can arrive no later than July 1. All players will be tested for Covid-19 before anything else happens. In 2020, an employee at a government-owned company was fired for bullying one superior and being raunchy with a male colleague — and eventually assaulting him. The employee held a grudge against a female superior who was younger than him and publicly expressed his contempt. He made humiliating remarks to the superior and tried to exclude her from the work process by creating online chatrooms that excluded her. To a male colleague 13 years his junior, he constantly asked sexual questions and cursed when he tried to duck them. The two got drunk and eventually violence erupted: the older guy choked the younger. The company canned him, and, unsurprisingly, he took it to court. The White House this week sent a news flash that could change the face of small business lending sometime next year. Buried deep in a factsheet from October 4, entitled “Vice President Harris Announces New Public and Private-Sector Efforts to Advance Racial Equity at Freedman’s Bank Forum,” is a notice of a proposed rule change that the U.S. Small Business Administration is expected to undertake in the next few months, lifting a 40-year moratorium on new Small Business Lending Companies. Translation: Fintechs and other alternative lenders would be able to apply for a license to offer SBA-backed 7(a) loans. The working capital loans , available for up to $5 million with repayment periods of seven to 25 years, depending on the purpose of the loan, are among the SBA’s more popular traditional loan programs. An unknown caller issued life threats to Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and his family on October 5. The call was received on the landline number of Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital. The caller also issued life threats to Mukesh Ambani's wife Nita Ambani, and their two sons Akash Ambani and Anant Ambani. The offence in this incidence is being registered at DB Marg Police Station and further investigation in this matter is being done by Mumbai Police. ANI quoting Mumbai police also reported that the caller threatened to blow up the hospital. Police sources said that the caller will be traced soon. A spokesperson of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) giving details about the threat calls said a police complaint has been filed and will give the police all the information they need for conducting an inquiry into the matter. Speaking at the RSS Dussehra rally at the Reshimbagh Ground in Nagpur, Bhagwat said community-based population imbalance is an important subject and should not be ignored. Population imbalances lead to changes in geographical boundaries, he said. The new population policy should be applicable to all communities equally to strike a balance, he said.
