Annuar: Do not hoard cooking oil
Tan Sri Annuar Musa (Photo by Zahid Izzani Mohd Said/The Edge) - A + A SERDANG (Aug 7): Those directly involved in the ecosystem for production and sale of palm-based cooking oil should avoid hoarding or rationing the commodity following the setting of its maximum price at RM34.70 per five-kilogramme bottle effective from Monday (Aug 8), said Tan Sri Annuar Musa. The Chairman of the Special Task Force on Jihad Against Inflation said if traders and retailers resort to such practices, they will ultimately lose out, apart from creating problems for consumers. "Just because the price of oil will drop, for example, people should not start hoarding. It won't solve the problem," he told reporters after visiting the Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition 2022 (MAHA 2022) at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang on Sunday. He said this when asked about the possibility of irresponsible parties hoarding cooking oil when its price is low, a practice … [Read more...] about Annuar: Do not hoard cooking oil
This Is the Healthiest Possible Diet, According to Research
If you're an entrepreneur who wants to maximize your energy and avoid an early death by eating healthy, there is a lot of confusing advice out there to contend with. Besides a host of trendy but conflicting diets, guidelines from actual scientists change regularly. One year fat will kill you, the next sugar is public enemy number one. Is fish great for you or mercury-laced poison ? And while everyone agrees heavy drinking is unhealthy, does a glass or two of wine a day do good or bad things for your health ? Given the ever-changing answers to questions like these, it's tempting to throw up your hands and ignore everything but the most basic nutritional advice. If no one knows anything beyond fast food is bad, then you may as well let your instincts (and taste buds) guide you. But according to a research review published recently in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology , science does actually know something definitive about what you should eat. … [Read more...] about This Is the Healthiest Possible Diet, According to Research
How to Eat for All-Day Energy
As a busy entrepreneur you're probably going non-stop all day, but that doesn't mean your energy levels keep pace with your to-do list. Despite a consistently packed calendar from when the alarm rings in the morning to when we shut out the light at night, many busy professionals veer wildly from a post-coffee 11am energy buzz to a near catatonic post-lunch lull in the afternoon. This can't be good for your productivity, but what's to be done about it? Afternoon napping has been suggested by many and seems to align well with humans' natural circadian rhythms, but if your customers or your kids make that option untenable, are their other possibilities for dealing with your daily energy rollercoaster? On blog Dumb Little Man recently, nurse and nutritional health counselor Penny Klatell suggested busy professionals consider eating themselves to more consistent energy levels . "Food is both the culprit and the treatment for a big part of our lack of energy, muddled thinking, … [Read more...] about How to Eat for All-Day Energy
Editor Daily Rundown: Biden Invokes Emergency War Powers To Build Solar Panels
BIDEN INVOKES EMERGENCY WAR POWERS TO BUILD SOLAR PANELS… NY POST: Biden draws heat for invoking Defense Production Act to boost solar panels President Biden drew criticism Monday after invoking the Defense Production Act to potentially expedite the production of solar panels — with journalists and Republicans questioning the rationale for using special wartime powers. Renewable energy advocates, meanwhile, cheered the White House announcement that Biden would invoke the act “to accelerate domestic production of clean energy technologies, including solar panel parts.” […] The Biden administration did not specify a national-defense reason for using the act to boost solar panels. When Biden was vice president, the Obama administration aggressively pushed for solar energy production — sparking the Solyndra scandal when a politically-connected firm went bankrupt after getting $535 million in federal loan guarantees. U.K. Hospital Trialling Cleaning Solution That’s ‘Better Than Bleach’
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin A new cleaning solution clean can hospitals better than traditional products, U.K. researchers say. The product – Pathisol – can disinfect a surface in two minutes, which is five times faster than bleach. It can also kill 99.99% of pathogens, including hospital superbug C lostridium difficile . A team of researchers at Teeside University have been running an independent trial of the new product at North Tees and Hartlepool Foundation Trust in northern England. Developed by hospital subsidiary NTH Solutions, it contains a chemical called “hypochlorous acid”, which is already used widely in the US. “We know hypochlorous acid works from studies done in the U.S., but there isn’t yet clear evidence that it is effective in an acute clinical environment such as an NHS hospital,” NTH Solutions’ Educational and Development lead Dan Sullivan told Forbes. “Our study aims to provide that evidence through a robust, … [Read more...] about U.K. Hospital Trialling Cleaning Solution That’s ‘Better Than Bleach’
