Editor Daily Rundown: Unprecedented Supreme Court Leak Signals End Of Roe V. Wade

May 3, 2022 by dailycaller.com

SIREN… UNPRECEDENTED SUPREME COURT LEAK SIGNALS END OF ROE… POLITICO: Supreme Court has voted to overturn abortion rights, draft opinion shows The Supreme Court has voted to strike down the landmark Roe v. Wade decision, according to an initial draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito circulated inside the court and obtained by POLITICO. The draft opinion is a full-throated, unflinching repudiation of the 1973 decision which guaranteed federal constitutional protections of abortion rights and a subsequent 1992 decision – Planned Parenthood v. Casey – that largely maintained the right. “Roe was egregiously wrong from the start,” Alito writes. “We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,” he writes in the document, labeled as the “Opinion of the Court.” “It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.” […] The document, labeled as a first draft of the majority opinion, includes a notation that it was … [Read more...] about Editor Daily Rundown: Unprecedented Supreme Court Leak Signals End Of Roe V. AI Ethics Fighting Passionately For Your Legal Right To Be An Exception

August 3, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin They say that there is an exception to every rule. The problem though is that oftentimes the standing rule prevails and there is little or no allowance for an exception to be acknowledged nor entertained. The average-case is used despite the strident possibility that an exception is at the fore. An exception doesn’t get any airtime. It doesn’t get a chance to be duly considered. I’m sure you must know what I am talking about. Have you ever attempted to obtain some kind of individualized customer service whereby you were mindlessly treated without any distinction for your particular case and your specific needs? This has undoubtedly happened to you, likely countless times. I am going to take you through a disturbing trend that is arising about how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is being relentlessly devised to force fit everything into the one size fits all paradigm. Exceptions are either not detected or opted … [Read more...] about AI Ethics Fighting Passionately For Your Legal Right To Be An Exception

Editor Daily Rundown: Babies Under Threat In Colorado

April 5, 2022 by dailycaller.com

BABIES UNDER THREAT IN COLORADO … Colorado Governor Signs Bill Legalizing Abortion Up Until Birth Democratic Colorado Gov. Jared Polis signed an abortion bill into law Monday that legalizes abortion as a “right” in the state. Polis signed Colorado HB 22-1279, the Reproductive Health Equity Act, which passed the state Senate Mar. 23 by a vote of 20-15 and allows access to abortion for pregnant women up until birth, according to the Colorado legislature. The law prohibits local or state governments from enacting laws intended to “deny, restrict, interfere with or discriminate against an individual’s fundamental right to use or refuse contraception or to continue a pregnancy and give birth or to have an abortion.” “A pregnant individual has a fundamental right to continue a pregnancy and give birth or to have an abortion and to make decisions about how to exercise that right,” the law stated. “A fertilized egg, embryo, or fetus does not have independent or derivative rights … [Read more...] about Editor Daily Rundown: Babies Under Threat In Colorado

Bill Maher Claims ‘Fat Celebration’ Is Happening In U.S., Oversimplifies Obesity Epidemic

August 6, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin It’s a shame what Bill Maher has been saying about the obesity epidemic. Back in 2019, Maher literally asked people to “fat shame” others more on his HBO show “Real Time with Bill Maher,” as I covered for Forbes . Now, in the latest episode of his show, Maher complained that America has “gone from fat acceptance to fat celebration.” Maher claimed as well that “There’s a disturbing trend going on in America these days with rewriting science to fit ideology or just to fit what you want reality to be,” as you can see in the following tweet from Maher and the accompanying video: Just to be clear, Maher is not a scientist. During this segment, he also didn’t present any real scientific studies or have any, you know, real live scientists present. So, hmmm, was he in fact presenting actual science or was he rather rewriting science to fit his ideology or just to fit what he wants reality to be? Well, let’s take a look at … [Read more...] about Bill Maher Claims ‘Fat Celebration’ Is Happening In U.S., Oversimplifies Obesity Epidemic

Box Office: ‘Top Gun 2’ Passes $1.35 Billion As ‘Thor 4’ Tops ‘Thor 3’

August 7, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin In holdover weekend box office news for the weekend, DC League of Super-Pets dropped 52% for an $11.2 million second-weekend gross. That’s a not-so-super hold for an animated film that didn’t exactly open sky-high. DreamWorks and Universal’s The Bad Guys dropped 32% from a $24 million debut. To be fair, Super Pets’ $45.102 million ten-day total is above The Bad Guys’ $44.6 million ten-day cume, thanks to decent ‘school’s out for the summer’ weekday grosses. Presuming a conventional rate of descent, we can expect an over/under $70 million domestic finish for the $90 million Dwayne Johnson/Kevin Hart kid-targeted caper. It’s not playing beyond the kid quadrants, and it could end up alongside the *original* Storks ($73 million in 2016) and Smallfoot ($83 million in 2018). Still, hope springs eternal as there are no other big animated releases until Walt Disney’s Strange World over Thanksgiving weekend. Jordan … [Read more...] about Box Office: ‘Top Gun 2’ Passes $1.35 Billion As ‘Thor 4’ Tops ‘Thor 3’
