Apple AirPods Pro In-Depth Review: Snappy Design, Dazzling Sound

October 29, 2019 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Apple AirPods Pro were announced on Monday, October 28. I’ve been using the new true wireless in-ears since literally minutes after they were unveiled and testing them almost non-stop. Seriously, I’ve barely slept. AirPods have been one of Apple’s most successful products ever. Since the launch of the first pair in 2016, Apple has pretty consistently been scrambling to keep up with demand. Within three months of going on sale AirPods had become the number one wireless headphones worldwide and they soon went on to become the number one headphones, period. The new Pro model, in stores from Wednesday October 30, comes with a price hike - $249 compared to $159 for the entry-level AirPods, which continue to be on sale. The model with the wireless charging case costs $199, so this new version is still pricier than that, though the new case does come with wireless charging as standard at least. So, are they any good, are … [Read more...] about Apple AirPods Pro In-Depth Review: Snappy Design, Dazzling Sound

Why Temple Grandin Believes Visual Thinkers Can Pursue An Impactful Career

January 31, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Have you ever asked yourself what kind of thinker you are? Are you visual, kinesthetic, auditory, or verbal? Visual thinkers see images in their mind's eye— they include everyone from object visualizers with a knack for design and problem-solving to those who are more mathematically inclined and excel at pattern recognition and systemic thinking. Even though visual thinkers constitute a far greater proportion of the population than previously believed, we live in a language-filled world. This sidelines visual thinkers, screening them at school and passing them over in the workplace. Temple Grandin hopes to change that perception and help others understand the benefit of those who think in pictures. Whether by transforming how we think about autism or through her work on animal behavior, Temple Grandin has never stopped following—and driving—the research on what makes minds tick. As a result, she is the voice of … [Read more...] about Why Temple Grandin Believes Visual Thinkers Can Pursue An Impactful Career

The Range Of Careers Options For Autistic Individuals

August 31, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Many autistic individuals desire to be employed, but companies often lack the knowledge to implement and manage an inclusive workforce. A conservative estimate is about 50,000-60,000 autistic people turn 18 annually. They graduate from high school and are ready to take on college and careers, yet four in 10 adults with autism never work for pay between high school and their early 20s. "It's easy to assume generalities about persons with disabilities, such as most autistics are good with IT and don't enjoy conversing with others," said Melissa Skaggs, Owner of The Hive. "One of our employees frequently self-discloses to customers that he is autistic and enjoys chatting with new people who come into our cafe. Another employee with autism stays in the kitchen almost 100% of the time and rarely comes out to the front of the house, even to serve plates. Our employees are placed according to their personalities rather than … [Read more...] about The Range Of Careers Options For Autistic Individuals

Researchers Claim They’ve Deciphered An Ancient Tablet That Confirms A Biblical Narrative

January 30, 2023 by dailycaller.com

Two French scholars claimed to have deciphered the Mesha Stele in early January, revealing a reference to the “House of David” well before Jesus Christ walked our Earth. The Mesha Stele, or Moabite Stone, is an ancient basalt rock tablet discovered in 1868 that dates back to at least the 9th century BC, according to World History. After some significant social upheaval at the location of its discovery, at least the last five lines on the stone were broken, so it was unclear how the narrative ended. Shortly before the Mesha Stele was damaged, a paper-mache impression (known as a paper squeeze) was made of the inscription, which has now been used in the latest analysis. Mystery solved! Digital photography method confirms that the Mesha Stele references the biblical King David. AI Ethical Risks In the Music Industry Are Accelerating And We Are Not Ready For What Is Coming Our Way

January 31, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin I wrote two articles over the weekend researching the impact of AI on the Music Industry as one of the art domains being impacted by AI. You can read both of these blogs here: The first article focuses on Google’s recent MusicLM announcement and the risks without increased copyright law in place. The second article continues this discussion but broadens it with other examples. The more I dug into this area, I realized how much is at stake and the risks to our Arts Community and to all the musicians who bring so much joy to our lives. However, there is trouble afoot and it’s increasing. Why do a career in music and spend years mastering a craft when an AI model will eventually be able to consistently produce an award winning master piece? It’s simply a matter of time. Yes, I appreciate that creative capabilities of an AI model is not close to reality as Meta Chief Data Scientist, Yann Lecun, said to … [Read more...] about AI Ethical Risks In the Music Industry Are Accelerating And We Are Not Ready For What Is Coming Our Way
