The Edge | Knight Frank Kuala lumpur and selangor office Monitor (1Q2022): Downward pressure on rental, occupancy rates to continue

June 30, 2022 by www.theedgemarkets.com

This article first appeared in City & Country, The Edge Malaysia Weekly, on June 20, 2022 - June 26, 2022. - A + A The rental and occupancy levels of office space in KL city are anticipated to see downward pressure, as a result of substantial incoming supply and low occupancy in office buildings this year. The occupancy level in KL fringe, however, is expected to remain relatively stable, driven by a wider pool of tenants/occupiers and high-quality decentralised offices, particularly in areas with ease of accessibility and adequate transport links. Meanwhile, the Selangor office market will remain resilient with more leasing activities expected, especially for buildings with Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) status and Grade A buildings, says Knight Frank Malaysia executive director of corporate services Teh Young Khean in presenting The Edge /Knight Frank Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Office Monitor 1Q2022. Malaysia reopened its borders in early April to … [Read more...] about The Edge | Knight Frank Kuala lumpur and selangor office Monitor (1Q2022): Downward pressure on rental, occupancy rates to continue

8 Easy Productivity Lessons From a Parent of Twins

January 27, 2015 by www.inc.com

"How do you do it?" It's the question I've been asked countless times since my twins were born. Before I had kids I thought I was busy . Fitting in going to the gym six times a week, seeing all my friends and family, and spending time with my fianc seemed like a tall order. That was before my kids enlightened me about the meaning of the word busy . Now I really am busy, and people ask me all the time how I do it, making me realize that parenting twins has taught me many valuable lessons for the workplace and for life. 8 Lessons From a Parent of Twins: Lesson 1: Yes, I am ignoring you. Imagine pushing a triple stroller through Seattle's bustling Pike Place Market every morning and afternoon. It was my favorite daily ritual . My three girls (my twins along with their sister, 23 months older) were well known at the local fruit stand, butchers, and fishmongers. It came with a price, however: the stares and the comments (some of them ridiculously rude) from … [Read more...] about 8 Easy Productivity Lessons From a Parent of Twins

The Entrepreneur Behind New York’s Latest Health Food Craze

January 27, 2015 by www.inc.com

Marco Canora has long been a chef's chef, turning out seemingly simple dishes that require years of training to prepare consistently and well. He's received wide-ranging accolades for his restaurants, including Hearth in New York City's East Village. Yet today Canora is achieving new fame for a food that takes almost no skill to make, uses no fancy ingredients, and is completely unglamorous: bone broth. Bone broth is exactly what it sounds like: a pile of animal bones, covered in water; some vegetable scraps; and often a bit of cider vinegar--all boiled until the bones crumble. But despite--or because of--its simplicity, bone broth is having a moment. It's long been popular among some athletes and the paleo crowd, but now, thanks in large part to Canora, it's going mainstream. As a chef, Canora has been sipping bone broth for years, which may have been the only healthy part of a diet that until recently consisted largely of bread, butter, cigarettes, and alcohol. Like many … [Read more...] about The Entrepreneur Behind New York’s Latest Health Food Craze

Microsoft’s Danah Boyd on the Future of Social Media

January 29, 2015 by www.inc.com

Dr. danah boyd's brain is exactly as phenomenal as you think it would be. By day, she is researcher at Microsoft. By night, she's a youth advocate and activist of the highest order. Her undergrad thesis focused on sex hormones and their affects on virtual reality, and she has applied these findings, along with her other cumulative years of research on online behavior, to both her activism and her book, It's Complicated: The Social Lives of Networked Teens . And, as if that wasn't enough, she still finds time to maintain her Ani DiFranco lyrics page. Who are you? Hmm... that's the question we're all always asking, isn't it? Let's start with American-centric business-appropriate answers. I'm danah boyd, a principal researcher at Microsoft Research and the founder of a new think/do tank called Data and Society Research Institute. I'm a researcher, an activist, and a youth advocate. 5 Lessons on How Passion Creates Profits

February 2, 2015 by www.inc.com

Rich Dad said, "Employees dread the workweek and live for the weekend. Their world is made up of two spheres, work and play. The rich don't know the difference. Their work is their play because they're passionate about what they do." For me, Rich Dad's words ring truer than true. Nothing strikes the deepest chords of my heart more than helping others broaden their perspective, make the healthiest choices available to them, and find the financial freedom that every entrepreneur craves. It's my passion , and it also happens to be the vehicle that made it possible for me to raise my children on a single income as a young widow. My passion is the fuel that feeds my dreams. Do you keep your passion and vision front and center at all times? Are you able to say that you love what you do? If not, I'd like to inspire you to turn to your passion to identify your next steps to freedom. There is no greater compass. Here's why. 1. Passion is the fuel that feeds your dreams. … [Read more...] about 5 Lessons on How Passion Creates Profits

June 29, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Instead of sticking to Oslo, Stockholm or Helsinki, consider exploring town by town for a fuller, more authentic Nordic experience. Norway’s Sunnmøre district is a perfect place to start; located on the country’s west coast, the area boasts a number of stunning fjords, all within a few miles of one another. Scandinavian landscapes, culture and unique history put this region at the top of any traveler’s bucket list. The Sunnmøre Alps are known for scenic hikes, while roadside villages preserve tradition and welcome visitors to eateries, shops and intimate museums. As the unofficial capital of the district, the seaside town of Ålesund is worth spending a few days in; this “Art Nouveau” center is full of curiosities surrounding its reconstruction after a devastating fire in 1904. Ålesund will satisfy any history or architecture buff, while nature lovers will enjoy the opportunity to explore Sunnmøre via sparkling waterways, wooded … [Read more...] about Ålesund And Sunnmøre: Norway’s Adventure Capital Of The Fjords

Drinking Moët & Chandon With Basketball Legend Carmelo Anthony

June 29, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin As a ten-time NBA All-Star, three-time Olympic gold medal winner and the ninth highest all-time NBA points leader, Carmelo Anthony has already proven himself on the court. Now he's racking up big wins in the champagne and wine world. Anthony has partnered with Moët & Chandon, appearing in their 'Greatness Under Pressure' campaign, come out with his own wine label and has been hosting a 'What's In Your Glass' series of interviews. I spoke with Anthony about why he wanted to work with Moët, what sparked his interest in wine and what's in his own glass after a tough game. How did you first get into wine? It was the early 2000s. It was more about just going to a restaurant and sitting at the bar and having a glass of wine, not wanting a spirit or something too strong. I thought I knew what I was doing. When did it go from enjoying a glass to becoming a passion? It came gradually. The more I was drinking and … [Read more...] about Drinking Moët & Chandon With Basketball Legend Carmelo Anthony

Bob Dylan & Elvis Stay True

June 28, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin In the last few weeks, I’ve had two cultural experiences that I’m still trying to get my head around: Bob Dylan on his ‘Rough and Ready Ways” Tour and Baz Luhrmann's “Elvis.” Each, in their singular way, speaks to the struggle for authenticity in one’s art. Bob Dylan, who recently turned 81, performed three nights at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood. I attended the first night’s performance: Dylan spent most of the night behind the piano, occasionally venturing beside his piano to sing, play harp, and occasionally play guitar. He was clean-shaven and still has a full head of hair (although it can’t really be that dark). Dylan was dressed in one of his Western suits. Whether this was an actual Nudie confection or another’s – it spoke to Dylan being of the West, and at the same time, being a creature of Showbiz with a nod to those other rhinestone cowboys such as Hank Williams. Dylan didn’t seem as sure footed on stage as he … [Read more...] about Bob Dylan & Elvis Stay True

This Is (Probably) The Most Popular Cannabis Content Creator In The World: Meet Dope As Yola

June 30, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin “I recently got deleted off Instagram, again. I had about 4.1 million followers. My Snapchat was number two in the country, not just for cannabis, but in general: It was Kylie Jenner, me and Cardi B. And then they deleted that also. But in terms of sheer numbers online, my watch time is roughly 70 million watch time minutes a month. So I get in a day what some of the biggest cannabis websites get in a month,” explains Thomas Araujo, better known as Dope As Yola, when asked what makes him (probably) the most popular cannabis content creator in the world. To understand how he got there, we need to go back a decade because, as they say, it takes 10 years to become an overnight celebrity. The Real Grinder Thomas “fell in love” with weed at a very young age, even though he recommends people wait until the legal age in their respective jurisdictions to commence their cannabis journey. He remembers first trying the herb the … [Read more...] about This Is (Probably) The Most Popular Cannabis Content Creator In The World: Meet Dope As Yola
