Chris Solari Detroit Free Press Published 2:12 PM EDT Jul 9, 2019 Adam Berghorst made the biggest decision of his life to this point. And Monday, he arrived at Michigan State with a purpose. Play college football and baseball, then hope to face another choice in a few more years. Possibly in both sports. “That’s my goal,” Berghorst told the Free Press after a long first day as a college student. Berghorst got to East Lansing over the weekend and began his one summer class on Monday. The Texas Rangers selected the 6-foot-7, 265-pound right-handed pitcher in the 14th round of last month’s MLB draft. Berghorst had until Friday to sign, but announced via Twitter on Sunday that he would instead enroll at MSU and play both sports. MANILA -- It's the Huawei P30 -- no Pro, no X, no Max -- and it's fine. In fact, it's really good if you're looking for a photography-centered smartphone that can last for an entire day of snapping and sharing. The 50 times zoom on the P30 Pro is absent on the P30. It also has 3 lenses instead of 4, missing the time of flight or depth sensor. The screen is also smaller at 6.1 inches versus 6.47 inches. But the omissions don't take away from the experience of a Leica-powered P Series phone. Colors are rich, images are sharp and a wide angle view captures as much of the scene as possible. It also helps that the P30 sells for P36,990, P14,000 less than the P30 Pro, P13,000 less than the Galaxy S10 with a similar sized screen and nearly half the price of the iPhone XS. MANILA -- Huawei's P30 Pro and Samsung's Galaxy S10+ both offer the best hardware and software that the world's two largest smartphone makers could offer at the start of 2019. Both phones offer top of the line processors designed for artificial intelligence, 8 gigabytes of RAM, nearly 6.5-inch screens, multiple cameras, batteries that last a full day and gradient paint jobs. Until the release of the Mate 30 and the Galaxy Note 10 towards the end of the year, the P30 Pro and the S10+ are the Android phones to beat, save for the Apple faithful who have the iPhone XS Max. Here's our initial comparison based on roughly 2 weeks with both devices. Huawei raises stakes in camera wars with P30 Pro: review Samsung's S10+ is sexiest, best Galaxy yet: review BIG, BEAUTIFUL SCREENS Huawei shrunk the notch on the P30 Pro to a dew shape, compared to its predecessor, the P20 Pro, whose cutout looks similar to that on the iPhone X.
