PhonePe to double employee count by December
Razorpay plans to raise its workforce to 5,200 by December and fill the remaining 200 positions in a year’s time from now Bengaluru-based digital payments platform PhonePe plans to double its employee strength by the end of December as it taps a boom in online transactions, the company said on April 5. The company , the market leader in transactions on the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), has 2,600 employees and 2,800 open job positions across cities such as Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, and Delhi it is seeking to fill. It plans to raise its workforce to 5,200 by December and fill the remaining 200 positions in a year’s time from now. IT exports in Telangana for FY22 increases by 26.14% to Rs 183,569 crore
Telangana government said it has recorded an increase of 26.14 percent in export of information technology (IT) and information technology enabled services (ITeS) for FY2021-2022. The state has also increased employment in the sector by 23.78 percent. IT/ITeS exports increased from Rs 145,522 crore in FY21 to Rs 183,569 crore in FY22; and employment in the sector increased from 628,615 in FY21, to 778,121 for FY22, said Telangana IT and Industries minister KT Rama Rao. Rao informed that Goldman Sachs entered Hyderabad last year and it plans to grow to a headcount of 2,500 in three years. Further, OnePlus has also set up a hub for making smart TVs, and around 500 employees are engaged in the production, he informed. Genpact laid a foundation for its campus in Hyderabad, and will be adding 15,000 new jobs in the city's eastern corridor, Rao added. VIDEO: Pattaya Message A French man has been charged after snatching a smartphone in a department store in Pattaya. The Pattaya Message reports that Mueang Pattaya Police were notified of the incident yesterday evening. Police arrived and took the suspect into custody after other shop-holders helped to catch the suspect. The man was identified by police as 40 year old Laurent Meriem, a French national. He had snatched the Huawei P30 Pro smart phone worth 31,900 baht. He was taken to the Meang Pattaya Police where he was charged with theft.
