ALFREDO ORTIZ: Sunny Jobs Report Hides The Ugly Truth About Biden’s Economy
Is there more to the monthly Bureau of Labor Statistics jobs report than meets the eye? Consider: In a Christmas news dump that Americans mostly missed, the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia revised down the BLS’s estimated job growth for the second quarter of 2022 by more than one million. The BLS calculated that 1,121,500 jobs were created over this period, while the Philly Fed found that the economy added just 10,500 jobs. Reuters called this massive labor market discrepancy “a conundrum.” Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) accused the BLS of cooking the books to boost Biden. (RELATED: BETSY MCCAUGHEY: Spendaholic Politicians Are Taking A Sledgehammer To Your Economic Future) I’m reminded of these divergent analyses with today’s blockbuster BLS jobs report concluding 517,000 jobs were created in January, drubbing the 188,000 expectation. How did the economy create one of its highest numbers of monthly new jobs over the last couple of years at the same time tech companies were … [Read more...] about ALFREDO ORTIZ: Sunny Jobs Report Hides The Ugly Truth About Biden’s Economy
TikTok class is in session
Taylor Loren sat down in front of a camera, blue and pink lights glowing behind her. From her living room to the screens of more than 8,300 students, she started to explain what a “meme mentality” was. This lesson, on cultivating a relatable online image, was part of Loren’s class on how to master — or even just understand — TikTok, currently the most downloaded app in the world. Loren, a social media strategist in Vancouver, British Columbia, teaches people how to use TikTok. If things work out right, her students might even go viral. That is part of the curriculum. Being a star, she tells her class, requires several key skills: spotting trends, carving out a niche and, sometimes, playing up the culture battle between Generation Z and millennials. “People are realizing that this is the future of social media and they need to learn now how to create video content,” said Loren, 32. “I just saw a really big opportunity.” The success of her TikTok class has led Loren to offer a new … [Read more...] about TikTok class is in session

Bangkok is third most polluted city in the world
Photo via Twitter @MsLisaWilliams Bangkok was ranked the third worst city in the world for air pollution after PM2.5 dust reached unhealthy levels. A heavy blanket of smog encased the capital’s skyscrapers as nationwide agricultural burning and forest fires pumped tiny dust particulates into the air, exacerbated by the city’s chockablock traffic and stone-dry weather. At 10am, Bangkok’s air quality index (AQI) measured 198, according to IQAir, a technology partner of the UN Environmental Programme. AQI readings above 100 are considered “unhealthy” (red), above 200 are considered “very unhealthy” (purple) and beyond 300 are considered “hazardous.” Related news Thai celebrities duped out of 20 million baht in online toy scam, 300 victims speak out 12 hours ago Thai passport worth less than Cambodian | Thailand News Today 12 hours ago Bangkok’s thick levels of dust were only beaten by Mumbai in India at 207 and Lahore in … [Read more...] about Bangkok is third most polluted city in the world
Guards: it wasn’t us who attacked the Indian “tourist”

The nightclub guards who were accused of the assault met with Pattaya Police to provide their side of the story.
