The FBI was reportedly seeking documents President Donald Trump believed would exonerate him from Russian collusion claims and other election-related charges when agents raided his Mar-a-Lago residence, anonymous intelligence officials told Newsweek. The FBI collected all of the documents that were government property and used concerns about classified documents to justify the raid , but agents were looking for Trump’s personal stash containing documents related to Russian collusion accusations against him, fearing that he would “weaponize” them, Newsweek reported . One former Trump official said he may have planned to use the documents to help in a presidential run in the coming term. “Trump was particularly interested in matters related to the Russia hoax and the wrong-doings of the deep state,” the official told the outlet, adding that he may have intended to use the documents in a 2024 presidential campaign. “I think he felt, and I agree, that these are facts that the … [Read more...] about REPORT: FBI Was After Documents Trump Believed Would ‘Exonerate’ Him From Russia Conspiracy

Republican Governor Sues Biden Admin For Refusing To Clean Up Native Americans’ Contaminated Lands
Republican Gov. Mike Dunleavy of Alaska is suing the Biden administration to address the federal government’s transfer of contaminated lands to Alaska Natives. “When it comes down to helping these folks, it’s a poor record at best and dismal at its worse,” Dunleavy told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “Some sites are within two miles of a village and we know they’re contaminating our drinking water and food sources,” Hallie Bisset, executive director of the Alaska Native Village Corporation Association, told the DCNF. Republican Gov. Mike Dunleavy of Alaska filed a complaint in Alaska’s United States District Court to compel the Department of the Interior (DOI) to take responsibility for hundreds of contaminated areas that the federal government transferred to Alaska Natives. Dunleavy and the state of Alaska filed the lawsuit in mid-July as a last resort after the DOI allegedly ignored calls to identify and clean up 650 former federal military installations, oil … [Read more...] about Republican Governor Sues Biden Admin For Refusing To Clean Up Native Americans’ Contaminated Lands

Is COVID more dangerous than driving? How scientists are parsing COVID risks
Faithfuls wearing protective masks at a church in Amman, Jordan. (File image: Reuters) Like it or not, the choose-your-own-adventure period of the pandemic is upon us. Mask mandates have fallen. Some free testing sites have closed. Whatever parts of the United States were still trying to collectively quell the pandemic have largely turned their focus away from communitywide advice. Now, even as case numbers begin to climb again and more infections go unreported, the onus has fallen on individual Americans to decide how much risk they and their neighbors face from the coronavirus — and what, if anything, to do about it. For many people, the threats posed by COVID have eased dramatically over the two years of the pandemic. Vaccines slash the risk of being hospitalized or dying. Powerful new antiviral pills can help keep vulnerable people from deteriorating. But not all Americans can count on the same protection. Millions of people with weakened immune systems do not … [Read more...] about Is COVID more dangerous than driving? How scientists are parsing COVID risks

Kanye West Goes Full ‘Zoolander,’ Cites The Homeless As ‘Biggest Inspiration’
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Artist Kanye West, now formally known as Ye, has come under fire for selling his latest Yeezy GAP fashion collection out of bags, and citing homeless people as an “inspiration.” On Instagram , West posted a black image with white text, which read: “Look to the children / Look to the homeless as the biggest inspiration for all design.” The post has since been deleted, but not before the comment section rallied against West, accusing him of fetishizing homeless people, and pointing out the bitter irony of a billionaire selling overpriced clothes out of what appeared to be garbage bags. One comment read, “yes look to the homeless so we can sell middle class people $499 shoes.” Another commentator described the situation as “exploitation of the powerless,” while another wrote, “Instead of using the homeless as inspiration for design, you should be helping them get out of homelessness.” On Twitter, photos of … [Read more...] about Kanye West Goes Full ‘Zoolander,’ Cites The Homeless As ‘Biggest Inspiration’

Representative image (Image: AP) Ukraine said Russia had started creating a military strike force aimed at President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's hometown of Kryvyi Rih, as NATO moved closer to the most significant expansion of the alliance in decades as it responds to the invasion of Ukraine. The U.S. Senate and the Italian parliament both approved onWednesday Finland and Sweden's accession to the 30-member North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). Under NATO membership, which must be ratified by all 30 member states, an attack on one member is an attack against all. "This historic vote sends an important signal of thesustained, bipartisan U.S. commitment to NATO, and to ensuringour Alliance is prepared to meet the challenges of today andtomorrow," U.S. President Joe Biden said in a statement. ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ Is In Fact Alive In 2022, Here’s What We Know
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Today is March 1, which seems hard to believe, but that means we are approaching three months since the last update for Marvel’s Avengers, the live service game that seems increasingly likely to stop being live altogether at some point. But as I’ve wondered out loud if 2022 plans were still happening, the game has issued an update about things on the way. Though it’s still not the roadmap that was originally promised before the year was out in 2021. The current status of Marvel’s Avengers, according to Crystal Dynamics, is as follows: Patch 2.3 is on the way and planned to release this month. Nick Fury is returning to lead SHIELD, though he’s an NPC, not a new playable hero. He will be “coordinating future Avengers Initiative missions,” though no specific missions are revealed. There will be a large rework of the War Table in terms of how players select mission meant to reduce leveling frustration and be more … [Read more...] about ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ Is In Fact Alive In 2022, Here’s What We Know
