He was in Singapore between June 15 and June 17, and again on June 19 as he flew in and out of Singapore. The man developed a headache on June 14 and a fever on June 16. The symptoms went away, but then he started to develop a rash on June 19 so he sought medical help, according to Singapore’s Ministry of Health. Australia, India, Singapore Help Fuel Executive Search Gains In Asia-Pacific As Covid Impact Wanes

Lee explains Singapore’s approach to dealing with criticism
KIGALI, Rwanda (The Straits Times/Asia News Network): In Singapore's case, the Government's main responsibility is to serve its people, to do the right thing for them, and make sure the country grows, said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Monday (June 27). It therefore has to decide what is right, what direction it wants to take, and how it wants to lead the country forward, said Lee at a joint press conference with Rwandan President Paul Kagame. Lee was in Rwanda for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting last week. The Government is also mindful that nobody is right all the time, or has a monopoly on wisdom, and it considers criticisms objectively, he said. Lee was responding to a question from a Rwanda Broadcasting Agency journalist, who noted that Singapore and Rwanda have faced criticism as they developed, and asked what allowed them to pursue their national priorities and stay the course that has resulted in their success. "You may be right, or you may be wrong, … [Read more...] about Lee explains Singapore’s approach to dealing with criticism
Singapore urged to halt execution of another M’sian
PETALING JAYA: Lawyers for Liberty (LFL) has called on Singapore to halt the execution of Kalwant Singh. Kalwant was convicted and sentenced to death on Oct 24, 2013, for allegedly trafficking in 60.15g of diamorphine. The 32-year-old Malaysian is scheduled to be hanged on July 7. LFL director Zaid Malek described the death penalty as an "archaic and brutal form of punishment". "It does not deter serious crime; it is irreversible and the ultimate denial of human rights. "Continuing to hang drug mules whilst knowing full well that drug mules are easily replaceable by drug kingpins shows that Singapore prefers the illusion of taking action instead of actually resolving illicit drug trade in the region," he said in a statement on Thursday (June 30). Noting that the imposition of the death penalty for drug crimes has been declared by the United Nations to be in violation of international law and amounts to unlawful killing, he said that Singapore is in "contradiction to … [Read more...] about Singapore urged to halt execution of another M’sian
