MOH receives 528 complaints on bogus dental practitioners
Reuters filepix for illustration purpose only - A + A KUALA NERUS (June 29): The Ministry of Health (MOH) received a total of 528 complaints on illegal dental practitioners throughout the country from 2017 to 2021. MOH senior director (Dental Health) Dr Noormi Othman said of these complaints, 377 or 71.4% involved fake braces; 58 (11%) on dental veneers (crowns) and 93 (19.6%) on dentures, tooth extraction and teeth whitening. "The number of complaints rose between 2017 and 2019 but decreased during the 2020-2021 period. The drop might be due to increasing public awareness of bogus dentists or enforcement of the Movement Control Order (PKP) which restricted their activities. "However, we are concerned that the transition to the endemic phase will see their activities rising again," she told reporters, adding that Kuala Lumpur and Selangor recorded the highest number of complaints. RON97, RON95 and diesel prices unchanged from June 30 to July 6
- A + A KUALA LUMPUR (June 29): The retail prices of RON97 and RON95 petrol and diesel will remain unchanged for the week from Thursday (June 30) until July 6, the Finance Ministry said on Wednesday (June 29). In a statement, it said based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula, RON97 and RON95 will remain at RM4.84 per litre and RM2.05 per litre respectively, while diesel at RM2.15 per litre. "To protect consumers from the effects of the actual rise in oil prices on the global market, the government has maintained the retail prices of RON95 petrol and diesel, although the real market prices for these two products have exceeded the set ceiling prices,” the statement said. Three Arrows said to face BVI order to liquidate: Sky News - A + A (June 29): Troubled crypto hedge fund Three Arrows Capital was ordered into liquidation by a court in the British Virgin Islands, according to a person familiar with the matter. The court, which made the order on Monday, has appointed two partners at consulting and advisory firm Teneo, to handle Three Arrows’s liquidation, said the person, who declined to be identified because the information is confidential. A web site will be set up to collect information from creditors on debts owed by the fund. After that, Teneo will oversee the distribution process, including talks with potential buyers that may be interested in Three Arrows’s remaining holdings, such as tokens or equity stakes in crypto startups, the person added. According to a report by Singapore’s Straits Times ( ST ), industry sources claim that a non-binding term sheet had been agreed upon by six telcos ahead of the deadline, along with a shareholders agreement to take up a stake in DNB, which is expected to be signed early next month.
