Mitchem uses pot recreationally, which is legal in Colorado, where he lives. He thought that in Denver it wouldn’t be hard to meet women who also used it recreationally too, or at the very least, didn’t care that he did. But the women he met were uncomfortable with it. And it wasn’t just dating that was problematic. Mitchem’s mother is a cancer survivor who used cannabis to help her when she was in treatment. Nothing Announces Its Second-Generation Ear (2) ANC True Wireless Earbuds
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin I have a radar for hype; when the Nothing range of products was launched with very clever marketing, my hype radar flashed red. However, it turned out that you can have hype surrounding a product without it being all style and no substance. Since Carl Pei and his colleagues launched the Nothing brand, the products have won awards and been well-received because they are well-made and cleverly designed. In the two years since Nothing launched, the brand has announced its Phone (1), which was listed as one of Time Magazine’s best inventions of 2022. Nothing’s two pairs of earbuds – Ear (1) and Ear (stick) – have sold over 1,000,000 units worldwide. No small feat for a company new to the sector. In December 2022, Nothing even opened its first retail space. The Nothing Store Soho is in London’s cultural hub and the entire brand has captured the imagination of younger consumers who are used to high-0quality products from Apple. … [Read more...] about Nothing Announces Its Second-Generation Ear (2) ANC True Wireless Earbuds
Social Media Companies Look to Customers to Diversify Revenue
Mark Zuckerberg is going where Elon Musk stumbled. Months after Twitter said it would charge for a blue check verification, Meta is rolling out a similar system for Facebook and Instagram users. While Meta Verified stands to generate just $2 billion in its first year, a fraction of the company's 2022 revenue of $116 billion, it may represent a new source of cash as the advertising market craters. companies have made large staffing cuts , finding new sources of revenue is clearly on the mind of executives across the industry. Big tech cut 160,000 workers last year and more may be on the way. Meta is also working on a standalone, text-based social network similar to Twitter, the BBC reported. "We're exploring a standalone decentralized social network for sharing text updates," a spokesperson told the BBC . It's too early to say whether Meta will succeed in its search for a new revenue source, almost all of which now comes from advertising. Its net income fell about 40% last … [Read more...] about Social Media Companies Look to Customers to Diversify Revenue

American News Outlets That Took Money From TikTok Downplay Fears Of Chinese Influence
Major American media outlets that receive funding from TikTok have emphasized the app’s popularity and expressed skepticism about the app posing a potential national security risk in their coverage of efforts to ban TikTok, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation found. TikTok bought ads in The New York Times and Washington Post, including a four-page NYT ad with a QR code linking readers to a website boasting of the company’s security investments, and sponsored a popular Axios newsletter, according to Ad Age. The purchases were part of a PR blitz from TikTok ahead of a Thursday congressional hearing as the U.S. considers banning the app. (RELATED: ‘This Is Xenophobic’: Rep. MANILA -Grab Philippines, which is keen on expanding presence in the provinces, is seeking additional 20,000 slots for transport network vehicle service (TNVS) as the initial allotment by the government has already been filled. Grace Cruz, country head of the super app operator, told reporters in Manila on Wednesday they have already maximized the initial 4,000 slots allocated by the Land Transportation, Franchising and Regulatory Board. “We’re waiting for the next batch of slots.
