Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Jesse Redniss is CEO & Co-Founder of Qonsent , the first data privacy enablement and engagement platform built for consumers and brands. The race to comply with data privacy laws is top of mind for advertisers and marketers these days with things like clean rooms becoming a hot topic seemingly overnight. This is fallout from “the demise of third-party cookies and identifiers” and the data void they’re leaving behind. This means the third-party data they already have needs to be scrubbed clean to not only ensure that consumer data is private ( and protected ) but that it’s also the right data they should be tracking and leveraging for related campaigns. In other words, there’s no reason why a brand needs to have your Social Security number or other personal identifiable information ( PII ) on file, especially if you didn’t give direct, first-party consent for them to do so. And herein lies the … [Read more...] about Are Clean Rooms The Answer To Data Privacy And A Killer Customer Experience?

Chatbots need to evolve to stay relevant in the age of virtual assistants
Our exposure to chatbots is at an all-time high. From customer service to commerce to healthcare, chatbots are the fastest growing brand communication channel , thanks to their ability to handle issue resolution, remove friction in surfacing common information, and enable self-service to relieve human bottlenecks. advertisement advertisement But the growing chatbot landscape shows signs of fracture. In a recent study, over half of consumers who use chatbots cite dissatisfaction due to the frustration caused by “inconsistent answers” across chat and human assistance, while ranking preference of digital service channels like social media, human chat, and even email over chatbots. A finer point still, 60% of consumers would still rather interact with a human than a brand’s chatbot because of the ability to solve more complex and personal problems. The irony is that a chatbot’s premise to exist is to offload human-to-human interactions while … [Read more...] about Chatbots need to evolve to stay relevant in the age of virtual assistants
Why You Need To Look At Software Outsourcing Like Building A House
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin David is the Co-Founder of Aloa , a platform for outsourcing software development. Aloa has helped 200+ startups/companies build their tech. Software outsourcing is an inherently complicated space, where even highly technical individuals face pain points. In this article, I’ll create a simplified guide by walking through three main concepts that will help you understand what you need to know to kick off your software outsourcing journey. 1. The Analogy “Software development is like building a house.” Let’s look at some of the basic challenges of software development with this analogy in mind. Third-Party Limits: Your house doesn’t control your Wi-Fi signal; your internet provider does. The contractor who built your house is not responsible when you have an issue with your connectivity. With software development, you will have to rely on numerous third parties. Massive Internet Outage Caused By Amazon Cloud Glitch
A glitch at Amazon is causing numerous websites and apps that rely on the company's Amazon Web Services offering (AWS) to fail or deliver poor performance, especially for users on the East Coast of the United States. AWS is one of the world's largest providers of cloud services, and its currently hiccupping Amazon Simple Storage Service (which launched about a decade ago and is commonly referred to as Amazon S3) is today used by numerous online businesses as part of their critical infrastructure. The outage is, therefore, affecting many companies, including Netflix, Time, Pinterest, Business Insider, and Airbnb. Furthermore, because content from many providers that use AWS is loaded onto pages outside of their own sites, the outage is also affecting sites that do not directly use AWS themselves. Amazon has reported the issue on its AWS dashboard, stating, "We continue to experience high error rates with S3 in US-EAST-1, which is impacting various AWS services. We are working … [Read more...] about Massive Internet Outage Caused By Amazon Cloud Glitch
Apple Just Updated a Product No One Even Knew It Still Sold
It's official. It's finally here. The brand new, updated, turbo-charged, better than ever... iPod Touch? Wait, the iPod might be one of the most significant innovations Apple has ever created, but did anyone know it still actually sold them? I'm pretty sure I still have a 5th generation iPod Video in a drawer somewhere. I even swapped out the original hard drive for a compact flash card a few years ago, but I haven't used it since I bought an iPhone . It turns out not only does Apple sell them, but the company just announced it has updated them with the A10 Fusion processor from the iPhone 7, with support for augmented reality (AR) and Group FaceTime. Apple's announcement includes an especially interesting quote from Greg Joswiak, who is Apple's vice president of product marketing. In it, Joswiak says that Apple's "making the most affordable iOS device even better with performance that is twice as fast as before." Here's why that's interesting. He … [Read more...] about Apple Just Updated a Product No One Even Knew It Still Sold

This article first appeared in The Edge Malaysia Weekly, on June 20, 2022 - June 26, 2022. - A + A THE share price of DRB-Hicom Bhd has been on a downward trend since December 2020, when the shortage of semiconductors became apparent the world over. Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin I t’s hard enough for women to raise venture capital; of the more than $300 billion deployed to startups last year, women received just $6 billion, or 2%. And women of color get an even smaller piece of the pie; last year, according to Crunchbase , Black women received 0.35% of all startup venture funding. Mindright founder Ashley Edwards, 31, knows this reality all too well. But she’s also managing to beat the odds: Today she’s announcing a $1.8 million seed round for her company, which provides mental health services to underserved teens via SMS text messaging. Investors like Melinda French Gates and Lifeforce Capital were attracted to the company in part due to its team of specially trained coaches who check in with youth daily to help them manage the challenges of both crises and everyday stressors.
