Investors and savers are piling into cash as a safe haven from the banking turmoil that has rocked the industry these last few weeks. Since the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), investors have transferred over $300 billion into money market funds bringing the total to a record-breaking $5.4 trillion . Until recently, money market funds didn’t produce enough returns to lure investors away from the stock market or depositors away from savings accounts. For the last 10 years, the S&P 500 had an average yearly return of 9.82%. Compare that to Vanguard’s VMFXX 0.78% return and it’s no wonder catchy phrases like “cash is trash” caught on with investors. Continuing Education, Inc. claims to have, “over 100 Continuing Medical Education and Dental CE cruise conferences.” This allows medical professionals to fulfill the requirements of their professional designation in combination with a vacation. There’s also University at Sea, CME Away at Sea, AEA Optometric Cruise Seminars, and many, many more companies that would gladly give a professional continuing education classes and an excuse to vacation. British and Korean men arrested for robbing cannabis shop in Pattaya
Photo via Police News Varieties Officers from Mueng Pattaya Police Station arrested a British and Korean man yesterday after they stole 175,000 baht from a cannabis shop in Pattaya on Saturday. Another suspect, an Irishman, is being questioned by police under suspicion of being involved in the robbery. The two thieves were identified as 47 year old Englishman Markus Powell and 52 year old Korean Myoung Kyu Lee. The arrest followed a complaint made by the owner of the cannabis shop on Pattaya Sai Sam Road, THC Trade Herbs & Cannabis, on Saturday, March 25. The shop owner, 44 year old Parin Parnsing, reported that his Korean co-owner, Namil Kim, was attacked by the thieves while he was working in an office behind the shop at about 11.20pm. The two foreign men broke into the office and attacked Kim, although no weapons were used.
