Secret Tips On Getting The Most From Your Brazilian Steakhouse Experience

May 22, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin My teenager is a churrascaria superfan. Sebastian watches and re-watches YouTube videos and dips deep into Reddit forums to understand the secret handshakes and pro tips that get you the most bang from your Brazilian beefhouse experience. In celebration of Sebastian’s high school graduation and college acceptances, we took our beloved carnivore to the newest outpost of H&H Steakhouse in Beverly Hills (the other location is downtown Los Angeles) to eat magnificent cuts of meat brought to the table by grinning “gauchos” bearing long skewers of barbecued boeuf . Our kid stepped in with advice right away, so I thought I’d share the intel. These meals are not cheap but Sebastian’s insights on where to pace yourself and where to go “whole cow” helped make it one of the best meat-sweats nights in a very long time. H&H boldly calls itself L.A.’s “only authentic Brazilian churrascaria,” and I see where the … [Read more...] about Secret Tips On Getting The Most From Your Brazilian Steakhouse Experience

4 dessert destinations for you to discover in Denver right now

September 9, 2021 by www.denverpost.com

In the first episode of Netflix’s new series “Bake Squad,” Denver-based pastry chef Gonzo Jimenez sculpts a giant chocolate egg with an edible dragon hidden inside. Its sharp claws reach out from a hole in the surface, its beady eyes stare lifelike from within the shell, waiting to be cracked open and devoured. Filming for the series took place during the pandemic, a time when “the world needed something that was a little pick-me-up when it came to food and shows overall,” Jimenez said. “I think it clicked after the pandemic (started),” he added. “People want to indulge, and there’s nothing wrong with treating yourself.” The idea behind “Bake Squad,” according to Jimenez, is to combine the various talents of pastry chefs who appear like a team of “action heroes,” all responding to clients’ baking challenges with different dessert solutions. More than a competition, the show is meant to provide inspiration, a “la-la-land” version of real-life, Jimenez said. But that dragon … [Read more...] about 4 dessert destinations for you to discover in Denver right now

KOTA KINABALU: While a government study has ranked Putatan in the Top 10 happiest places among 114 towns and cities, the state’s capital just 13km away has been ranked the second lowest. And the residents in Putatan seem to agree with the results of the Malaysian Urban Rural National Indicators Network on Sustainable Development (MURNInets) 2021 Happiness Index study. Resident Jessieca Audrine Jimin, 34, is not sure if the results of the study are an indication of how everyone feels in Putatan, a suburb of Kota Kinabalu located near to the city’s international airport. “But I won’t say that I am extremely sad or happy with the situation here. It’s just that I don’t have much to complain about,” said the housewife and mother of one who has been living in Putatan for about 10 years. One Big Mac a day for 50 years: Meet 68-year-old Guinness record holder

May 21, 2022 by www.moneycontrol.com

(Image credit: www.guinnessworldrecords.com) A man in the United States ate one Mc Donald’s Big Mac burger almost daily for 50 years. His binge has earned him a place in the Guinness World Book of Records. Donald Gorske, 68, had his first Big Mac in Wisconsin in 1972. He told Guinness it was “love at first bite”. "In that moment I said 'I'm going to probably eat these for the rest of my life',” he added. Gorske first set the record of “eating most Mac burgers in a lifetime” in 1999. He had eaten 15,490 burgers by then. Since then, his record has more than doubled. By 2021, the number of burgers he consumed went up to 32,340. Close It was on May 17 this year that he reached his big 50-year munching milestone. Guinness said Gorske had missed eating the burgers for only eight days in 50 years. He has saved burger cartons from different time periods in a glass case -- a testament to changes that happened over decades. The woman had been working at the casino since 2011. (Representative image) A woman in the UK won a whopping 75,000 pounds after a tribunal ruled that her colleagues leaving her out from an office get-together was discrimination. Rita Leher, 51, used to work at Aspers Casino in East London since 2011 and is of mixed African heritage, the Daily Mail reported. She had 22 years of experience and had a great rapport with customers and was even paid much higher than most of her colleagues. But she complained of being sidelined and denied opportunities at her workplace back in 2018. She lodged an official complaint that employees younger and far less qualified than her were getting promoted over her. She alleged it was discrimination and in August 2018 she was signed off work due to stress. Leher then began a phased return to work a few months later while complaining about discrimination again. Leher said that she was being victimised, harassed and bullied since her return … [Read more...] about UK woman wins 75,000 pounds after colleagues didn’t invite her to drinks after work
