Travel to get more expensive in 2019 as hotel rates, flight costs go up

The proliferation of low-cost long-haul flights brings more opportunities to visit far-flung destinations without breaking the bank, and such carriers are predicted to multiply in 2019, while continuing to fight for long-haul routes. Ultra-long-haul flights will be another air travel trend for 2019. But factors such as rising oil prices and a lack of pilots are expected to drive up airfares next year in almost all global regions. Representative image (AP) The Southwest monsoon is likely to further advance to some parts of the central Arabian Sea, reaming parts of Kerala, and some more parts of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and south and Central Bay of Bengal as conditions for its advance remain favourable, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a tweet. During the next five days, squally weather with winds reaching speeds of 40-50 km/h is likely to gust over the southwest Arabian Sea. On May 30 and 31, squally weather is very likely over the Southeast Arabian Sea, and areas on the Lakshadweep islands. Regions such as the Comorin area, Gulf of Mannar; and areas off the coast of Kerala will also witness squally weather on May 30 and May 31, the IMD tweeted. Northwest India was reeling under a heatwave spell since June 2 and central India since June 10 due to an onslaught of hot and dry westerly winds. A heatwave spell that started on June 3 prevailed over isolated pockets of Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, north Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, southeast Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra's Vidarbha region till June 12. Sen. Kevin Cramer May Have Finger Amputated After Yard Work Injury
Republican North Dakota Sen. Kevin Cramer shared Wednesday that he sustained an injury while doing yard work and may require an amputation as a result. Cramer said in a statement posted to Twitter that he sustained a “serious” injury to his right hand while completing yard work over the weekend but declined to provide specifics. In addition, he cited high risk of infection and the potential need for an amputation as his reason for remaining in North Dakota, according to the statement.
