- A + A KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 28): Malaysia has raised close to US$2 billion via 21 sustainable and responsible investment (SRI) sukuk issuers from 2015 to 2021, according to the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC). SC chairman Datuk Seri Dr Awang Adek Hussin said the first SRI sukuk was issued in 2015, which funded the development of trust schools in Malaysia, followed by the world’s first green sukuk in 2017 to finance the construction of large-scale solar power plants. “In Malaysia’s case, the presence of dedicated regulatory structures, particularly for Islamic SRI, has allowed Islamic instruments and investments to flourish,” he said at the Fourth Islamic Sustainable Finance and Investment Asia Forum here on Wednesday. Awang Adek said he attributed Malaysia’s decades-long experience in Shariah products and services to three critical prerequisites for continued market and industry evolution, namely a facilitative regulatory framework, a supportive ecosystem and … [Read more...] about SC: Malaysia raised nearly US$2 bil via SRI sukuk from 2015 to 2021

However, as Gartner notes, 63% of marketers are still having trouble with delivering personalized experiences to their satisfaction. So, what’s the disconnect? Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Martha Wright has spent six of the last twelve months in Paris, where she’s explored the city through the lenses of both a wine professional and sobriety coach. That’s meant homing in on best options for low-alcohol and no-alcohol venues and beverage options. Seeking out NA beverages around the world has been a colorful mission for Wright, bringing her into contact with young and passionate entrepreneurs. “It takes me out of my routine and across town to investigate a tip about a thoughtful zero-proof drink,” she says, like the “a spooky, sexy opium-den themed basement bar” where she drank a dramatically presented NA cocktail with CBD. “I’ve gotten into great discussions with young Parisian shopkeepers who are interested in these new NA spirits but I’ve also been laughed at and dressed down by the owner of a traditional wine shop when I inquired about NA wine!” To supplement our companion piece about Wright’s … [Read more...] about Alcohol Free Drinking In Paris? Low-alcohol or no-alcohol beverage options haven’t exactly fitted into the picture, traditionally, but that could be changing. Low- and no-alcohol [or NA] options are, contrary to history and romantic imaginings, a recent trend in France’s capital city. What’s behind such a shift? “I see Parisians, especially the younger ones, as being far more experimental and open to new ideas and to change than their parents,” said Martha Wright, a sobriety coach at Clear Power Coaching who also co-founded Scott Paul Wines in Oregon in 1999 and Caveau Selections wine importing company in 2006. Kwasi Kwarteng - A + A (Sept 28): The International Monetary Fund urged the UK government to reconsider the massive unfunded tax cuts announced last week, while Moody’s Investors Service said the plan could do permanent damage to the public finances. The IMF said fiscal stimulus is inappropriate given the inflation pressures in the UK economy, and the package risks making life harder for the Bank of England. Moody’s forecast that it will lower economic growth — contradicting the view from Chancellor of the Exchequer Kwasi Kwarteng — by pushing up interest rates. The warnings come amid dramatic moves in UK asset prices in the wake of the government’s mini-budget. The pound touched a record low against the dollar on Monday after Kwarteng brushed off criticism of his economic vision and said he has more tax cuts in the works. Borrowing costs have jumped across the UK financial system since his announcement last Friday and banks have started pulling mortgages … [Read more...] about IMF tells UK to rethink tax cuts as Moody’s says rating at risk
