The agreement covers the J.W. Marriott/Ritz-Carlton L.A. Live, Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles L.A. Live, SLS Beverly Hills, W Hollywood, W Westwood, and the Sheraton Grand Los Angeles. Details of the contract won’t be available until workers — represented by Unite Here Local 11 — are able to vote on the tentative agreement. That’s scheduled to happen Friday. The agreement potentially settles contract talks with six of the 24 Southland hotels, but workers will be ramping up pressure on the holdouts where strikes are still likely. Strikes were recently settled in San Francisco and Hawaii. Elon Musk‘s rocket company, SpaceX, is raising another $US500 million in investments, the Wall Street Journal reported. That means SpaceX could end 2018 with $US1.257 billion in new funds, since the company already raised $US507 million investment in April and got a $US250 million loan in November. SpaceX will likely use the money to fund two ambitious projects: a global network of internet-providing satellites, called Starlink, and a giant launch vehicle for exploring and settling Mars, called Big Falcon Rocket. SpaceX may raise another $US500 million in new funding before the New Year. That’s according to a story published Tuesday by the Wall Street Journal. If Elon Musk’s rocket company does raise the money, the new funding would get added to a $US250 million loan that SpaceX secured in November, according to the Journal, as well as $US507 million in investments that SpaceX started selling in April.
