Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin While data privacy continues to propagate daily headlines from breaches to new laws, many in the business world are wrestling with how to design a vigorous and thoughtful privacy program without bogging down the necessary speed of the software development life cycle. Additionally, enterprises are learning firsthand the bottom-line value of maintaining and increasing overall customer trust and privacy is at the center of the conversation. According to a recent report from Forrester , post-pandemic, reduced tech dependency will combine with trust and privacy issues — including an inability to protect users from emerging risks and a lack of effective ethical measures in digital environments — to progressively erode consumers’ trust. We predict that by the end of 2023, consumers’ trust in tech companies will shrink 15%. I recently had a chance to sit down with data privacy expert and TerraTrue co-founder and CEO, Jad … [Read more...] about How A Company’s Philosophy To “Shift Left” Is Making Headway In The Data Privacy World.

The Coming Democratization Of Financial Services, Thanks To Artificial Intelligence
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The financial revolution is here. Here, we take a deep dive with one of the world’s top FinTech venture capitalists, Spiros Margaris , founder of Margaris Ventures , into the way AI and related technologies are transforming a key industry. Spiros, a senior advisor to, and investor in, several fintech, insurtech, cybersecurity, health care, and AI sector companies, including two FinTech start-ups with valuations of over $1 billion. Q: What issues, shortcomings, or inequities with financial systems are potential areas for transformation? Margaris: The financial technology industry — FinTech — seems to originate from the need to provide for a democratized financial system, at least, the FinTech companies that interest me. The long-term impact of those companies will be our industry’s true legacy. By democratization of the financial system, I mean an industry that provides for the unbanked or underbanked — people with … [Read more...] about The Coming Democratization Of Financial Services, Thanks To Artificial Intelligence
Digital Technology Provides More Tools To Shatter Racial And Sexist Barriers To Management
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin While the world has been changing with an increasingly diverse workforce, racism and sexism continues to hold people back from leadership and management ranks of companies. Backward corporate cultures that favor old-boy networks, with entrenched bias in promotion processes, are the problem. There needs to be commitment and an understanding of the power diverse management can bring to growth and innovation. At the same time, technology — the game-changer for many things — can also help to finally help to open up opportunities for racial and ethnic minorities and women in leadership. Currently, only seven percent of managers are Black, according to an analysis from McKinsey. At senior-manager levels—vice president and senior vice president—it declines further, to five and four percent, respectively. In addition, only 23% of C-suites are made up of women, according to estimates from a separate study from Leanin.org and … [Read more...] about Digital Technology Provides More Tools To Shatter Racial And Sexist Barriers To Management
The Real-Time AI Data Race Is On
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Machines are smart. As we now apply an increasing amount of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to our machines through increasingly sophisticated Machines Learning (ML) models, our machines are getting smarter all the time. But it’s not enough. We don’t just need more intelligence, we need it according to specific vectors. Key among those vectors are AI at scale, AI that is validated, secured and bias-free (aka explainable AI) and AI engines that are capable of computation analysis in real-time. Chicken or egg? The question we must now ask is: should AI specialists develop more real-time competencies, should real-time data streaming specialists work to innovate new tiers of AI, or should the responsibility fall to higher-level data platform specialists or the hyperscaler Cloud Services Providers (CSPs) themselves? DataStax thinks this challenge is a data platform play, but then - it would, the company is an enterprise … [Read more...] about The Real-Time AI Data Race Is On

Ethereum’s Centralized And Decentralized Liquid Staking Providers Battle For Dominance
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin What Happened After Ethereum began its transition to proof-of-stake, liquid staking platforms have enabled users to earn a yield by delegating their ether (ETH) to a validator, while receiving a tradable staking token that represents a claim on the underlying staked ETH. Liquid staking products have seen significant traction in recent months, with two of the largest liquid staking pools, Lido and Rocket Pool, gaining the most market share among decentralized staking pools. Decentralized staking pools enable users to delegate their assets while retaining custody of their private keys, whereas their centralized offerings require users to first move their assets to a centralized platform. Lido and Rocket Pool’s respective native tokens, LDO and RPL, have surged 115% and 80% year-to-date, indicating rising interest in the platforms. Coinbase, the largest centralized exchange based in the US, is a newer entrant into the … [Read more...] about Ethereum’s Centralized And Decentralized Liquid Staking Providers Battle For Dominance
New Predictions From CloudQuant’s Alternative Data Crystal Ball
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Another Holiday Season has come and gone since, and the holiday cheer did not elicit the much hoped for Santa Claus rally at year’s end. What some investors got instead were news of the ongoing collateral damage caused by the continuing unravelling of former crypto exchange, FTX. The crypto market is just showing signs of a dead cat bounce, inflation is still on the minds of consumers, and now the tech sector is laying off employees like tax accountants after tax season. A recent belated gift by the equity markets has provided some relief and rallied the pundits around a peak interest rate narrative. We check in with the indomitable Morgan Slade, the head sage of CloudQuant to see what insights his data science team have discovered since we last checked in with him. Gary Drenik : Hello Morgan, welcome back! Morgan Slade: Gary, thank you, it’s great to see you again.
