- A + A (May 19): China’s top diplomat again warned the US over its increased support for Taiwan, showing the island democracy remains a major sticking point between the world’s biggest economies as Beijing sent more military aircraft toward the island. “If the US side insists on playing the Taiwan card and goes further and further down the wrong road, it will certainly lead to a dangerous situation,” Yang Jiechi, Beijing’s top diplomat, said in a phone call with National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. Yang said Washington should “have a clear understanding of the situation,” according to a statement posted online by his nation’s Foreign Ministry. “China will certainly take firm action to safeguard its sovereignty and security interests,” he added. The White House issued a short statement on the Wednesday call, saying the pair “focused on regional security issues and nonproliferation.” They also discussed Russia’s war against Ukraine and specific issues in … [Read more...] about China warns US a ‘dangerous situation’ forming over Taiwan

Remote and hybrid work options create more opportunities for businesses to attract and retain talented people. But hybrid work , often referred to as the "messy middle," requires an entirely new playbook to work well . That's why I co-wrote How the Future Works , with Slack's Brian Elliott and Sheela Subramanian. In the book, we leverage not only what we've learned from two years of research and a survey of more than 10,000 knowledge workers conducted by Slack consortium Future Forum , but also what we've seen implemented at companies like IBM, Royal Bank of Canada, and Genentech. Our goal is to give leaders the why and how of building hybrid teams. Here are some of the book's best parts and key lessons: Know the Difference Between Guardrails and Principles Executives are used to command and control, and many right now think that making flexible work models successful means mandating employees spend a certain amount of days in the office. But our … [Read more...] about Slack Research Reveals These 3 Strategies Can Make Hybrid Workforces More Successful

Why Tesla Could Become The Netflix Of The EV Market

May 19, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Netflix NFLX was a pioneer in the online streaming industry. This year, it became clear that the incumbents had finally caught up. What’s more, Netflix is not poised — as it was in 2007 — to enjoy rapid upward growth by creating a new industry that builds on its strengths. Now — after reporting a drop in subscribers — its stock trades 74% below its October 2021 peak. Could the same thing happen to Tesla? An MIT professor and a J.D.
