President Vladimir Putin's arch-critic appeared before the court via video-link from behind bars at his prison colony outside Moscow. Chronically shy and suffering from debilitating anxiety, Natasha Abrahart, a physics student at the University of Bristol, was found dead in her flat in April 2018.
