- A + A KUALA LUMPUR (May 26): CCK Consolidated Holdings Bhd’s net profit in the first quarter ended March 31 (1QFY22) leapt by 83.68% to RM11.13 million from RM6.06 million in the same period last year, fuelled by turnaround in the poultry segment and a strong performance from the retail segment. Earnings per share rose to 1.78 sen from 0.97 sen, its Bursa Malaysia filing showed on Thursday (May 26). Quarterly revenue increased by 20.63% to RM197.43 million against RM163.67 million, due to a recovery in consumer demand leading to a stronger performance in the poultry and retail segments. On a quarterly basis, the group’s net profit surged by 55.25% from RM7.17 million registered in the immediate preceding quarter (4QFY21), while revenue came in higher by 5.20% from RM187.67 million in 4QFY21. Thong Guan declares higher DPS of 1.25 sen as 1Q profit rises 13% despite shortage of manpower
- A + A KUALA LUMPUR (May 26): Thong Guan Industries Bhd’s net profit for the first quarter ended March 31, 2022 (1QFY22) rose 13% year-on-year (y-o-y) to RM24.6 million from RM21.77 million, on higher average selling prices of its products. This resulted in higher earnings per share of 6.39 sen from 5.71 sen a year ago, the manufacturer of stretch film said in a filing on Thursday (May 26). Revenue rose 18.03% y-o-y to RM333 million from RM282.14 million, contributed by its plastic packaging products segment, as well as food, beverages and other Thong Guan also declared a first interim dividend per share (DPS) of 1.25 sen, payable on July 18.
