Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The best high chairs boast bells and whistles that our grandparents never dreamed of, and yet, the best ones continue to deliver in a few key areas: durability, cleanability and the best positioning for children. After testing 10 high chairs over several weeks and researching many other bestsellers, I found the Graco Blossom 6-in-1 to be the best high chair overall considering how easy it was to clean, adjust, buckle and use. Not only does it support the baby in a proper eating position, but the tray is removable with an easy one-handed motion. Another favorite was the Peg Perego Siesta as the best splurge high chair. If you’re willing to spend another hundred dollars (or $200, depending on sales and colors), you’ll gain a few more features in the Peg Perego, including the ability to fold it for storage and a slightly elevated look. 100+ test negative after Koh Samui Covid-19 case of the Thai/French woman
So far, more than 100 people have tested negative for Covid-19 after a 57 year old French/Thai woman tested positive for the virus in Koh Samui. Her case is the first on the island in 7 months and health officials are investigating to determine if she came in contact with the virus on the island, when travelling from France or possibly while in quarantine at an ASQ hotel in Samut Prakan, just southeast of Bangkok. The woman, born in Thailand, was repatriating back to Thailand with her family. She has dual citizenship. Meanwhile, 30 people are considered to be at “high risk” of contracting the virus. The Koh Samui Hospital director Veerasak Lorthongkum says those people, including her husband and son, as well as people seated close to her onboard a flight, show no signs of infection. Traces of the virus were found on gym equipment at the ASQ hotel in Samut Prakan where the woman stayed when she arrived back in Thailand. She spent the mandatory 2 weeks in isolation upon entering … [Read more...] about 100+ test negative after Koh Samui Covid-19 case of the Thai/French woman
Will Receptor Decoys Both Prevent And Treat SARS-CoV-2 Infection?
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin A new ACE2 decoy mechanism efficiently neutralizes a variety of Covid-19 variants, including Omicron strains. With the continuous evolution of the SARS-CoV-2 virus over the last three years, the pathogen has become more efficient at infecting our cells and evading our immune defenses. One crucial aspect of this efficiency is affinity to the ACE2 receptor, a major selection criterion in virus evolution. The ACE2 decoy mimics the host cell ACE2, similarly engaging the virus and inhibiting viral entry to a real cell. Using receptors as decoys is not a novel concept. In connection to SARS-CoV-2, ACE2 decoys were tested against closely related viruses, SARS-1 and HIV, in recent decades. The decoy did not come to fruition against these viruses for myriad reasons. For SARS-1, the strategy showed some signs of reduced symptoms in mouse models, but the outbreak calmed before further animal and human testing could continue. For HIV, … [Read more...] about Will Receptor Decoys Both Prevent And Treat SARS-CoV-2 Infection?
Cancer Diagnosis Early Saves Lives
(CTN News) – Medical Oncology Specialist Dr. Celal Alandağ stressed the importance of early cancer diagnosis. “Everybody now knows the importance of early cancer diagnosis.” Cancers that are detected in time with state-of-the-art scans can extend patients’ life expectancy. It’s true. Women are most likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer, so doing self-exams is essential to catching early. When you’re 20, you should start checking your breasts once a month and consult your doctor if anything changes. My recommendation is to see a doctor every 2-3 years between 20 and 40. It’s life-saving to get a mammogram and physician evaluation once a year after you’re 40,” he said. She said after the first sexual experience, a smear test and examination should be done once a year to keep an eye on cervical cancer. If it stays normal for three years, you can repeat it every 2-3 years. Controls should be done regularly if there are diseases or drugs that weaken the immune system. … [Read more...] about Cancer Diagnosis Early Saves Lives
White Rhino Killed At Florida Wildlife Park After Escape, Report Says
A young white rhinoceros was shot and killed by Florida wildlife park officials days before it was set to debut in the park after it began acting “very wild” and escaped its enclosure. Skipping Pilot Purgatory For TinyML And IoT Solutions
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Vitaly Kleban is the CTO at Everynet | Tech due diligence for VC | TinyML Contributor | LoRaWAN Contributor | ISO Blockchain Contributor. Pilot projects are crucial for assessing the performance of IoT solutions—yet many of them are stuck in pilot purgatory. One of the reasons for that is that many project teams start thinking about the pilot evaluation criteria once the project is underway already, or even when the project has been completed. Skipping The Pilot Purgatory One way to avoid pilot purgatory is to move your team's attention from project planning to project rollout by using binding “try-and-buy” contracts. Within the framework of such contracts, the customer undertakes to roll out the solution in question right after the success criteria of the pilot project have been achieved. In order to successfully apply such a framework, it is necessary to provide reliable ways for designing and … [Read more...] about Skipping Pilot Purgatory For TinyML And IoT Solutions

How Will The Metaverse Change The Publishing Market?

It is relentless and inevitable that our world will change. These changes can please us, scare us, inspire us and surprise us. But they will still happen no matter our reaction. For change is like the elements—that is, it's not subject to human will. Take books, for example. The earliest complete printed book was published in 868. Since then, more than a thousand years have passed, but the essence and purpose of books have not changed. Famous Argentine poet and novelist Jorge Luis Borges was convinced that "books will never disappear. It is impossible for it to happen. Of all man's diverse tools, undoubtedly the most astounding are his books." But is this statement true now in the era of the metaverse, digital realities and artificial intelligence? Let's try to find out. … [Read more...] about How Will The Metaverse Change The Publishing Market?
Personality And Job Success: How To Separate The Method From The Madness
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Professor of IO Psychology. CEO of fitt , a multi-method digital talent platform. In my work leading talent assessments, one of the most frequent questions I get asked by organizations is, "What role does personality play in job success?" At the risk of giving the standard psychologist rendition of “there is no right or wrong answer,” the honest response is: It depends. Personality assessment in work settings is nothing new. Used first by the military to gauge the battle readiness of soldiers, tools have evolved over time, become more sophisticated and branched into … [Read more...] about Personality And Job Success: How To Separate The Method From The Madness
