Feds Search Trump DOJ Official Jeffrey Clark’s Home
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Topline Federal law enforcement agents on Wednesday searched the home of Trump-era Department of Justice lawyer Jeffrey Clark, whose push to pursue shaky voter fraud allegations following the 2020 election caused uproar at the DOJ—and drew intense scrutiny from the House January 6 committee Thursday. Key Facts Clark confirmed the search in a Thursday night interview with Tucker Carlson, telling the Fox News host about a dozen federal agents visited his home at 7 a.m. Wednesday and spent over three hours searching his house and removing electronics. Roe V. Wade Has Completely Transformed The Midterms – Here’s How
The abortion debate has become a major focus in the midterms after a leaked draft decision from the Supreme Court indicated Roe v. Wade will be overturned. “[Democrats are] gonna use every single dirty trick in the book, so I do think that we should be a little more on the offensive,” Carson Steelman, press secretary for Heritage Action, told The Daily Caller News Foundation. Multiple Republicans in battleground states have emphasized that little will change in their state if Roe was thrown out, while Democrats have argued the opposite. Both Republicans and Democrats have been forced to reconfigure their election strategies only six months before the midterms due to the unprecedented leak from the Supreme Court indicating Roe v. Wade will be overturned. Many Democrats have made clear they intend to hammer opponents across the aisle on the implications of Roe being overturned and while Republicans have celebrated the decision, several have largely focused on the leak … [Read more...] about Roe V. MSNBC host Joy Reid lambasted the Justice Department Wednesday night over the indictment of former Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum on multiple counts of fraud. “As a taxpayer and as a citizen, if what we get out of four years of this attorney general and this Department of Justice is Andrew Gillum, getting illicit ‘Hamilton’ tickets and search, if that’s what we’re paying for, we’re paying too much for the Department of Justice,” Reid said on “The ReidOut.” (RELATED: ‘That’s Her Scam’: Gutfeld Says MSNBC Is ‘Terrified’ Of Firing Joy Reid Because She Will Cry Racism) WATCH: A federal grand jury issued a 21-count indictment on June 7, charging Gillum with 19 counts of wire fraud, one count of conspiracy and with misleading the FBI during a corruption investigation that covered both his 2018 gubernatorial campaign and his service as mayor of Tallahassee. IBBI’s proposed amendments to liquidation regulations may help banks streamline recovery process, say experts
The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India ’s (IBBI) suggested changes to liquidation regulations, if implemented, could help banks maximise recoveries in a time-bound manner, said at least six bankers and legal experts Moneycontrol spoke to on June 23. “The proposed amendments are possibly a solution to practical difficulties faced in the liquidation regime and the failure to achieve the timelines,” said Sushmita Gandhi, partner, IndusLaw. “It is a genuine attempt to fill those gaps to work out a comparatively efficacious regime.” “The amendments hold a strong potential for reducing banks’ haircuts by imposing stricter timelines for the completion of the liquidation process,” Gandhi added. Liquidation is the process of monetising a company’s assets, and using those funds to repay the company’s debts. Analysis-Taliban’s isolation makes Afghan earthquake response harder
KABUL (Reuters) - A devastating earthquake in eastern Afghanistan, which killed at least 1,000 people and flattened homes in remote villages close to the Pakistani border, poses the biggest challenge yet for the Taliban since they seized power nearly a year ago. The hardline Islamist group is governing an impoverished country beset by severe drought, widespread hunger and economic crisis and where the effects of decades of conflict are still keenly felt. A regional offshoot of Islamic State has also claimed several major attacks, challenging Taliban promises to bring peace and stability to Afghanistan once it had defeated Western-backed troops and forced NATO soldiers to withdraw. Now the earthquake risks exposing the limitations of an administration largely isolated from the outside world and desperately short of cash and resources. While humanitarian assistance continues to flow, aid needed for longer-term development in Afghanistan was halted when the Taliban stormed … [Read more...] about Analysis-Taliban’s isolation makes Afghan earthquake response harder
