William Shatner, Monica Lewinsky, and other prolific Twitter commentators—some household names, others little-known journalists— could soon be losing the blue check marks that helped verify their identity on the social media platform. They could get the marks back by paying up to $11 a month. But some longtime users, including 92-year-old Star Trek legend Shatner, have balked at buying the premium service championed by Twitter’s billionaire owner and chief executive Elon Musk. After months of delay, Musk is gleefully promising that Saturday is the deadline for celebrities, journalists, and others who’d been verified for free to pony up or lose their legacy status. “It will be glorious,” he tweeted Monday, in response to a Twitter user who noted that Saturday is also April Fools’ Day. After buying Twitter for $44 billion in October, Musk has been trying to boost the struggling platform’s revenue by pushing more people to pay for a premium subscription. Sagi Rodin Creates Frontegg Customer Management And Identity Platform For SaaS App Builders
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The arrival of Software as a service or SaaS platforms may have started with Salesforce.com in 1999, but the business model has reached near ubiquity today. Yet the challenge for creating in-house the underlining systems that manage multi-user logins and security for it remains for many SaaS app developers. Sagi Rodin encountered the same challenge while working as a software engineer for the Israeli-based Check Point Software, one of the world’s most innovative and largest security companies. For each new application he worked on, he had to build from scratch the customer identity and access management application (CIAM). So he decided to leave Check Point to solve the problem. Founded in Israel in 2019 by Sagi Rodin, CEO and Aviad Mizrachi, CTO, Frontegg is a platform that supports app builders by covering all aspects of authentication from single-sign on to complex, multi-tenancy authorization, API-token management … [Read more...] about Sagi Rodin Creates Frontegg Customer Management And Identity Platform For SaaS App Builders

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin “Has anyone had clients actually do the apocryphal story of a client using a 529 to go on a continuing education cruise of Europe?” asked one of my peers in a recent forum, “Trying to figure (this out) after client asked.” Can You Get An Education At Sea? There are a host of companies offering education opportunities in combination with a cruise. Continuing Education, Inc. claims to have, “over 100 Continuing Medical Education and Dental CE cruise conferences.” This allows medical professionals to fulfill the requirements of their professional designation in combination with a vacation. Ten Questions With OpenAI On Reinforcement Learning With Human Feedback
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Recently, we interviewed Long Ouyang and Ryan Lowe, research scientists at OpenAI . As the creators of InstructGPT – one of the first major applications of reinforcement learning with human feedback (RLHF) to train large language models – the two played an important role in the evolution of RLHF models and paving the way for GPT-4. Here are some highlights from the conversation. What's the motivation behind InstructGPT? And what are the problems with GPT-3 that inspired InstructGPT? Long Ouyang: I think one of the main issues we’re trying to solve is that when GPT-3 came out there was a lot of excitement about using it to do useful cognitive work, for example, summarizing a news article. Out of the box it’s not exactly designed to do that, it’s designed to predict what someone on the internet might say in a given setting. And it turns out that you can kind of trick the model into performing useful work for you … [Read more...] about Ten Questions With OpenAI On Reinforcement Learning With Human Feedback

The Role Of KPIs In Product Software Security
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Chief Product Officer at GrammaTech , where he leads product strategy for the company’s application security testing product portfolio. Key performance indicators (KPIs) can be used in application security testing to measure the effectiveness of security testing and provide insight into the security posture of an application. The US Restaurant Industry Has Bounded Back from Covid At Every Level From Fast Food To Fine Dining
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The doomsayers who predicted the literal demise of the U.S. restaurant industry after Covid—especially at the fine dining level—proved myopic in the extreme. A new study called the “Agency Forward Restaurant Survey” compiled by Nationwide Insurance, which both insures and advises restaurants on coping with inflation to supply chain issues shows that every segment of the industry has not just survived but in many cases is thriving well past pre-pandemic levels of business. To explain the findings I spoke with Peter McMurtrie, President of Commercial Lines at Nationwide: You say reservations have returned to pre-pandemic levels. Does this apply as much to fast food and chain restaurants (which are mainly walk-in) as with higher end and fine dining? While this research study only focused on fine dining, fast casual and family-style restaurants, recent research as well as our interactions with customers have shown fast food … [Read more...] about The US Restaurant Industry Has Bounded Back from Covid At Every Level From Fast Food To Fine Dining
Does Tapestry’s Stock Have More Room For Growth?
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Note: Tapestry’s FY’22 ended on July 2, 2022. After a 42% growth over the last six months, at the current price of around $41 per share, we believe Tapestry (NYSE: TPR) , a luxury goods retailer of handbags, shoes, and accessories under the Coach, Kate Spade, and Stuart Weitzman brands - could see modest growth. TPR stock has increased from around $29 to $41 in the last six months, compared to an 8% rise in the S&P index. The company’s stock has bounced back as of late after the company reported impressive earning results during this period - despite the increase in transportation costs and higher inflationary pressures. Also, Coach has a more significant physical presence in China, which is expected to be the key beneficiary of China’s reopening. China’s luxury market is rapidly recovering from the pandemic with greater strength and resilience. It is expected to reach around $112 billion by 2025, or approximately … [Read more...] about Does Tapestry’s Stock Have More Room For Growth?
